[NEW] Paulaner Brauhaus – Taste of Munich Now is Back!

The popular Paulaner Brauhaus which organized by Hotel Indonesia Kempinski, Jakarta was recently reopened in Grand Indonesia on November 7, 2013 to a new location on 2nd Floor East Mall.  This German-themed restaurant and bar comes with a modern design, cozy, warm and homey decorations. Area restorannya begitu luas dan terbagi menjadi beberapa area, ada indoor (non smoking), outdoor (smoking area), area Bar dan Private room bagi yang ingin mengadakan acara khusus dengan privasi lebih. You’ll see there are long benches, and long tables available in this restaurant. There is also a small podium for the band to perform every evening except on Monday. Right from the outdoor area (smoking area), you can also view to the heart of Jakarta.

Outdoor area at Paulaner Brauhaus

Bavaria’s biggest brewer, Paulaner International, serves handcrafted beer from the in-house microbrewery to ensure the quality and freshness of their home-brewed beers. Half of the dishes in Paulaner Brauhaus are made of pork, but they also serves the same dishes that made the restaurant popular with diners, including sausages, sauerkraut, soup, salad, steaks, etc.

Paulaner Radler, IDR 84K (0.3 l)

This is one of Paulaner‘s signature drinks. Radler was served for the first time in Munich in 1922 to satisfy and refresh cyclists, but now everybody loves it! It’s very popular, made of Paulaner Brauhaus Hell (lager) and lemonade. It has a very nice, smooth and light taste. Simply a great refreshment and I must say it’s the best Beer ever! Must try!

Available in 3 size : 0,3 litre, 0,5 litre, and 1,0 litre

Go Green – NEW Drink

Love it!

Grilled Paulaner “Currywurst”, IDR 110K

If you love to eat sausages, then the signature Grilled Paulaner “Currywurst” here will surely be able to impress you. When I heard the name “Currywurst”, I thought it’s gonna be like a Japanese curry or the usual curry that I usually taste. But this one is different; curry in Germany seems to be more like a Barbecue sauce. It tastes sweet exactly like BBQ sauce, but it’s great! You can choose either Pork or Chicken sausage, and of course I picked the Pork one. The Pork sausage comes in a big size, firm texture and fragrant in taste, served with lots of french fries. Must try!

Char Grilled Pork Neck Steak, IDR 95K – Non Halal –

This menu is part of the Original Munich and Bavarian specialties. The pork neck itself was marinated in beer for 24 hours, served with onions, mustard, fermented homemade potato salad and white cabbage. Must try!

Crispy Pork Knuckle “Schweinshaxe“, IDR 250K – Non Halal-

The Crispy Pork Knuckle is also one of their speciality. This menu comes in a very big portion and easily can be shared between 4-5 people. The pork skin was roasted to perfection and wonderfully crunchy! The meat was tender and juicy, came with a sinful layer of sticky fats underneath and the pepper sauce complementing it well. The soft and hearty Bread Dumplings, which accompanied this dish, were quite pleasant. Go along with a tall glass of beer, taste marvelous! Must try!

Emperors Pancake “Kaiserschmarr’n” Single Portion, IDR 55K

I’ve never had a super delicious pancake like this before. The fluffy bite-sized pancake pieces were coated with a crisp caramelized sugar and apple compote. Definitely it’s the best pancake and is a dish that I will return for! Must try!

If you want something different for lunch or dinner, then you should give this place a try. I must say that this is a highly recommended German tasty culinary specialities.
