I got a chance to enjoy Italian Dinner at Scusa Restaurant located in Intercontinental MidPlaza Jakarta last week with other fellow food bloggers. Scusa is one of the well-known award-winning fine dining restaurant which offers lots of great Italian cuisine in an elegant, romantic, modern, and stylish ambience. The interior design is mostly using polished wood with a dramatic light setting which makes us feel intimate with the ambience. There is an open kitchen, wood burning oven, rotisserie and charcoal grill at the front area of the restaurant. I was so happy to know that Chef Wawan Setiawan Barito, Chef de Cuisine Scusa, is the one who prepared us with some of Scusa’s signature menus to try.
Walnut Bread
Walnut Bread is a complementary daily baked bread, which contains large chunks of crunchy walnut and salty feta cheese. It tastes really good!
Red Virgin Sangria Mocktails
A very refreshing mocktails (non-alcohol cocktails) which has a nice splash color made with sparkling water, flavored soda and fresh juices.
Buffallo Mozzarella
For an appetizer, they served us with Buffallo Mozzarella served with tomatoes, rocket leaves and black pepper. As we all known, Buffallo Mozzarella is the Italy’s favorite Cheese and they served us with a fresh one. Stick a fork into the tender white cheese ball and the juices streams out from it. It has a rich taste, milky smell, fluffy and soft texture. Love it!
Potato and Mushroom Soup
I love mushrooms! This one is Scusa signature potato and wild mushroom soup with truffle. Simple, earthy and very tasty with a touch of truffle, but I prefer a thicker and creamier version of the soup.
Cappellini Con Astice Pasta
Here comes the main course which becomes my most favorite dish for that night. Homemade Angel Hair Pasta served with Sulawesi lobster, fresh chili, tomato, extra virgin oil and chopped parsley. The sauce on this dish was not heavy sauce, but it was very tasty. Though the tomato sauce kind of overpowered the dish and it’s not spicy at all, the mouth-watering lobster tastes great and it complements the homemade pasta.
Scusa Signature Spit-Roasted Chicken
Spit-roasted Chicken marinated with Italian herbs, garlic, balsamic vinegar and grain mustard, green asparagus and mashed potatoes. All the Italian herbs help to keep the chicken stays moist and tender. Simple yet delicious!
Tiramisu
Last but not least, thank you Scusa and Intercontinental MidPlaza for such a great Italian dinner. I’m truly enjoyed with the ambience, the food quality and friendly professional staff. So, if you’re craving for a good quality of Italian food and a good wine selection with great value, Scusa is worth a visit.
