Have you ever heard a new restaurant called Locanda Food Voyager lately? Yes, the restaurant which had opened two months ago has become one of the exciting hangout place while enjoying a variety of Italian food – Pan Asian cuisine. The restaurant which is located in Sudirman – Senayan, Panin Bank building, is really spacious with many large windows in the whole room. Oh, btw, this restaurant has replaced Tony Roma’s restaurant that has been there before. So you’re certainly not going to find a Tony Roma’s restaurant again, but you’ll find a chic restaurant with a beautiful atmosphere like this.
Here you will find two kinds of bars with bar stools, dining tables and some private rooms.
Comfy sofas, or high chairs, are all there!
Each dining area has a different décor, creating a different dining atmosphere as well. That’s why I really like this restaurant; the atmosphere is so comfortable, quiet, and a mix of modern contemporary style makes it look unique and different from most restaurants.
Locanda offers a unique palate where they combine Italian taste and Pan-Asian food where mostly are Thai food. I was so curious about it because I love them both. There are so many foods that I have tried on food tasting session that afternoon along with other foodie friends, ranging from appetizers, main course, and desserts. Among all that I have tried, the Tom Yam Kung, Kai Pad Prik Klea, and Fried Udon Java actually come out as the most delicious dish and become the most favorite among the other menus. Make sure you try them while visiting this restaurant later. If you want a fresh drink to accompany your lunch, try Locanda Twister and Locanda Punch. Both of them are very refreshing and not too sweet. Snacks such as Sinchos, Cigar Prawn and White Truffle Pizza are recommended for you to try, and both of them become a favorite snack for me at Locanda.
Locanda Punch, IDR 40K
Fresh Orange Juice, Mango Juice, Almond and Grenadine.
Locanda Twister, IDR 40K
Fresh of mint leaves, lime, brown sugar, ginger and ginger ale.
Sinchos, IDR 55K
Traditional “singkong” crackers served with yellow cheddar sauce and truffle oil. The cassava chips are so crisp and savory, yummy! Recommended!
Cigar Prawn, IDR 60K
I also like the Cigar Prawn. It is wrapped in crunchy spring roll skin served with sweet and sour chili. Simple but tasty and addictive! Recommended!
Tom Yam Kung, IDR 65K
A classic Thai soup that got me hooked. The soup was so spicy with the right combination of a sour taste. Spicy and sour prawn soup at its best! A must try!
Kai Pad Prik Klea, IDR 60K
As I said before, this is a winning dish for me. Thai Chicken with Black Pepper and Garlic has a very fragrant aroma when served on the table. All the combination of savory tastes, sweet, and slightly spicy that comes from it makes us fall in love with this menu! A must try!
Grilled Spring Chicken, IDR 120K
Grilled Spring Chicken served with mashed potatoes and spiced tomato sauce. The grilled chicken is pretty good, but, unfortunately, the mashed potato is tasteless.
Angel Hair, IDR 120K
A quite fulfilling angel hair pasta served with tiger prawns, garlic and chili olive oil. Though the pasta is quite dry and bland for me, I enjoyed the big size prawn on top of it.
Udon Goreng Java, IDR 70K
Aha!! A Japanese noodle served with beef, vegetables and topped with crunchy fish cracker. The perfect combination of savory and sweet from the soy sauce cooked in Javanese style. It’s tastier and more delicious than the Angel Hair pasta. Recommended!
White Truffle Pizza, IDR 85K
A good combination of thin pizza dough topped with mozzarella, celery stick, wild mushroom, and truffle oil. Our favorite too! Recommended!
Luk Chup, IDR 50K
Thai sweet mashed mung bean on “agar-agar”.
Melted Choco Cake, IDR 60K
Melted Choco Cake with wild berry and Rum Raisin Ice Cream. My favorite!
Manciam, IDR 50K
Thai cassava cake with coconut milk.
Castangel Mollica, IDR 55K
Mama cookies crumbled modified on house special’s cake.
