[JAPAN] Great and Affordable Sushi at Premium Sushi Train KAIO Kaiten-Zushi, Tokyo

As planned, after we visited the giant Gundam Robot in front of Diver City (Gundam Front), we went straight to Premium Sushi Train Kaio located on the 6th floor of Diver City on Odaiba, Tokyo, Japan. When we visited this restaurant, it was still at 6 pm, and there were not many people are eating. They greeted us very friendly and invited us to sit on the minimalist sofa that adjacent to the conveyor belt sushi. Irrashaimase shout all the Japanese waiter as we walked in the restaurant. Irrashaimase means welcome in Japanese. Unlike in my country, Jakarta (the capital and the largest city of Indonesia), here in Japan we can easily find many sushi restaurants that have a conveyor belt like this. It is also called as Kaiten-Zushi where the plates with the sushi are placed on a rotating conveyor belt and moves past every table and counter seat.

What makes KAIO Kaiten-Zushi different from the other sushi restaurant? Here we can use the iPad to place an order, and less in five minutes, our sushi is delivered by a little “Shinkansen” train on the 2nd level above the conveyor belt. I believe not only kids will love this, but young adults or maybe everyone sure will like it too! The menu at the iPad is also available in many languages; English, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean.

I can easily find a wide variety of sushi when compared to the existing menu of sushi in the city where I live, Jakarta (part of the Indonesian). They only use fresh fish and fresh seafood which mostly shipped from the port of Toyama every day to the restaurant. All the sushi tastes delicious and surprisingly, everything is very affordable, ranging from ¥108 after taxes and every sushi plate signifies a different price.

Besides sushi, they also have some side dishes and some heavy meal, like ramen, Udon, etc.  Overall, we were both very happy to eat sushi at KAIO Sushi. In addition to an affordable price, the food was also delicious. For those of you who want to visit this restaurant, it’s good to come with a small number of people, two to four persons so you can easily get a seat because this restaurant is always crowded during peak times; lunch or dinner hours. A must visit when you’re in Tokyo, Japan!

Remember that, after every meal in any restaurant in Japan, you have to bring your bill, which they have given us on the table, and you can pay it directly at the cashier. These are some pictures when I lined up at the cashier to pay my bill, and a lot of people lined up in front of the restaurant.
