[NEW MENU] Enjoying Various Sweet Treats at The Baked Goods

The presence of The Baked Goods at Sabang, Central Jakarta has been well received by the people of Indonesia and even foreigners. Since three years ago, this place has become a favorite place for everyone to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee and tea with a variety of cakes and desserts. Although the place is not so big, but the indoor and the outdoor atmosphere makes anyone who comes feels at home with a touch of wood and minimalist interior. In addition to its first outlet in Sabang, The Baked Goods until now has two new branches located in Senayan City Urban Kitchen and Kem Chicks Pacific Place. However, in both these outlets they do not sell full meals like the one in Sabang.

The humble owner who also a celebrity, Erwin Parengkuan and his wife, Jana Parengkuan said that they only use natural ingredients with no preservatives, no food coloring, and less sugar products. Here everyone can enjoy a variety of Czech’s food with a personal twist by Jana. I was invited to sample their latest menus includes Moist Chocolate, Strawberry Cheese Cake, Sesame Parmesan Biscuit, Peanut Butter Choco Chip, Fruit and Yoghurt Pancake, and Knedliky, which I’m going to share with you now.

 Lasagna, IDR 68K

This is what I call a real lasagna. The sauce has a good flavor, where olive oil, onion, tomato, black pepper, and lots of ground beef mixed perfectly. The mozzarella, Parmesan Cheese, and Cream Cheese are what makes this dish so fantastic! Truly delicious!

Beef Karbanat, IDR 68K

A Czech style beef patty served with mashed potato, sour cream and chives. The homemade beef patty is so smooth yet has a solid texture without the slightest fat. It tastes less salty, best eaten with sour cream and chives which provided on the side.

Rosella Tea, IDR 28K

I heard that this homemade drink made from Rosella Flowers has lots of vitamins that benefit our health. It has a bright natural red color and fresh flavor where it has a similar flavor to a mixture of strawberry and apple. It is also known to be a great source of vitamin C, Omega 3, Magnesium and Calcium which increases high immunity and helps healing wounds and reduces muscle cramps. It is soothing for cold symptoms and helps digestion, too. I think this drink is great for everyone!

They served us a variety of new dessert menu after we tried few favorite meals at The Baked Goods. Everything is good, but my most favorites are the unique Knedliky and the Strawberry Cheese Cake that is not too cheesy. Between the two newest flavors of cookies, I prefer Parmesan Sesame Biscuit, which still has a delicious savory cheese after taste than Peanut Butter Choco Chip.

Light and delicious unbaked cheesecake with pie shell, perfect for the cheese lovers. Here is my favorite cheesecake where the cheese did not overpower the sweetness of the strawberries. The perfect combination!

Knedliky, IDR 27K - NEW

A Czech specialty, steamed bread dumpling served with cream cheese, fresh strawberries in it and sprinkle of sugar on top. Soft bread dumplings, similar to the “bakpao” texture. The taste is also unique where sweet meets sour, and savory into one. Best eaten while it is still warm.
