This afternoon we visited Brewerkz Jakarta that located in the Senayan City Mall after we finished the church service this morning. Brewerkz Jakarta is a Restaurant and Bar franchise brought from Singapore‘s brand that has been opened since 1997. This Singapore‘s award-winning microbrewery restaurant also has many branches, such as in Riverside Point, Singapore Indoor Stadium, Dempsey Road, and Orchard Parade Hotel Tanglin Road. The Sinar Mas Group has brought this brand to Jakarta since two months ago (mid-July 2014) which is under the same management with En Dining Restaurant, and Q Billiard. Brewerkz itself is famous for their handcrafted premium beers, and they offer a lot of American-style food choices.
The restaurant manager suddenly approached us while we took some pictures of what we’ve ordered for lunch. We both thought he wouldn’t allow us to take pictures in the restaurant, (well, you know..) but hey.. lucky us! He is friendly, and it turns out he just wanted to share some information about this place. He shared with us that in Singapore, they have a full range of premium beers handcrafted on-site from the 10 hl microbrewery attached to the restaurant. But they cannot have their own microbrewery in Jakarta. That’s why until now, they haven’t launched a grand opening for this restaurant because their Signature Beer (Golden Ale, Pilsner, India Pale Ale, and Oatmeal Stout) is not yet ready.
Earl Grey Tea, IDR 21K
I chose Earl Grey Hot Tea; a simple black tea flavored with bergamot to accompany my lunch. Besides the tea, they also have some coffee, soft drinks, cocktails, and mocktails.
Ferrero Shake Mocktails, IDR 50K
To beat the summer heat, my husband chose Ferrero Shake Mocktails. It is one of the best-seller mocktails in Brewerkz. A quite creamy drink and less sweet made from a combination of Ferrero Rocher, Nutella, chocolate ice cream, hazelnut syrup and fresh milk. Both of us loved it! Must try!
Singapore BLT Burger, IDR 185K
Brewerkz does not specialize in Burger’s menu because they also have some other variants, such as salads, sandwiches, some main course, a few small bites and also big bites. But I’m tempted to try one of the burgers, which contains pork inside. French fries and some vegetables are served alongside the burger. The 200gram of Beef patty was juicy, while the Singaporean Pork Bak Kwa (Pork Jerky) was grilled into perfection and somehow had a smoky flavor which is good for me. It was simple and delightful. Although, it’s a bit expensive, but it’s worth it.
Warm Brownie, IDR 65K
A warm chocolate brownie served with vanilla ice-cream melting on top and housemade Fudge sauce. Simply heaven!
Overall, we had a delicious experience for today’s lunch! We loved the ambience in this Restaurant but, unfortunately, all areas are smoking area. However, we’re still curious about their Signature Beer which are scheduled to be ready in Jakarta by next November. Can’t wait!
