[KULINER BALI] Quality Breakfast Date at Habitual Quench & Feed, Bali

Habitual Quench and Feed has been known as one of the best places in Bali for brunch, so we decided to visit this place when we traveled to Bali on last December 2014. It is located in Umalas, Kerobokan, Bali, and at first, it was pretty difficult to find this place. From the exterior, you will not realize that it’s a cafe because the signboard is too small, and a little covered by the tree in front of it. It was also difficult for us to find a place to park our car around there. I guess it will easier for diners to use motorbike or bicycle to visit Habitual. The place isn’t big, yet very famous among tourist and local people.

For those of you who are curious about this popular brunch spot in Bali, just like us, you have to remember this. Habitual Quench and Feed open every day from 09:00 to 18:00 except Monday.

Although small, the place is comfortable with minimalist decor, lots of frames up on the red brick wall, and separated into two areas; indoor and outdoor (at the terrace). Only a few tables and chairs are available, so I recommend you to come early in the morning around 9 to 10am. Diners can easily see the juice counter in the middle of the cafe, and they can see directly into the kitchen from the small kitchen window.

Ice Lemonade, IDR 20K

It was very hot in Bali during my visit on last December 2014. So instead of having a cup of coffee in the morning, we ordered Iced Lemonade to refresh our day. It was a nice cold glass of lemonade; cold and very refreshing! Perfect for a hot summer day!

Smoked Salmon Benedicts, IDR 65K

I know Egg Benedicts is a classic brunch dish that can easily be found anywhere. But since this is in Bali, and the waiter said Egg Benedicts is a favorite, so we decided to try it. There are three options for the filling; English Spinach, Bacon, and Smoked Salmon. We chose the Smoked Salmon, which served with toasted sourdough, roasted tomato, and hollandaise sauce. We’re very happy because the salmon was much more delicious than with the traditional bacon that we’ve tried in some other places. The poached eggs were perfect, too!

Habitual's Brunch, IDR 75K

Another favorite breakfast for us that day, we loved the Habitual’s Brunch so much! It consists of the same ingredients with the menu at the top, but this one was served with a crispy hash brown potatoes and wilted spinach. Oh, this is definitely a good way to start the day. Very crispy hash brown potatoes and poached eggs cooked so perfectly. Tasty and delicious!
