Have you heard the latest promotions, Festa in Famiglia Saturday Brunch at Rosso Restaurant, Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta? Last weekend, we went there and now I want to share what we have tried for Saturday Brunch. I think everyone already knows about Rosso, an Italian restaurant located in the Shangri-la Hotel, Jakarta. Rosso serves Italian cuisine prepared by Chef Paolo Gionfriddo and his team, using only the freshest and finest ingredients to create a flavorful and wonderful dish in Rosso. In Italy, Rosso itself means red, and that is why all the decor in this restaurant is dominated by the red color.
It’s the color that represents passion, love, romance, strength, leadership, etc. That’s why we both love this color so much, and we also like the luxurious and intimate atmosphere in Rosso. Spacious dining area with a view to the garden, lovely!
Every Saturday, Rosso presents something different from the regular dining menu. It’s called Festa in Famiglia, a family tradition to gather and feast during the weekend. Festa in Famiglia Lunch Package includes a variety of specialties antipasti buffet, selected main course, and mouthwatering desserts, complete with chilled juices, coffee, or tea. This package is only available for Saturday lunch, from 11.30am until 2.30pm. (For adult cost IDR 288K before tax and service, while for kids cost IDR 194K before tax and service). In addition to the delicious Italian food, children also get a complimentary access to weekend Kids Zone, and enjoy children’s activities in Rosso, such as the pizza making and decorate cupcakes. Of course, adults can join the activity as well, just like what my husband did, together with Syanagawa and Yenny, our food blogger friend! 😀

Antipasti Buffet
At the end of the restaurant, there’s a big room that displays a wide selection of antipasti buffet, ranging from fresh salads with various dressings, sliced salami and Swedish Salmon, Stuffed Mushroom, Marinated Beef, Stuffed Capsicum with Rice, Capsicum Caponata, Green Pea Cream, Fried Calamari, Seafood Salad, etc. We can choose anything that we like.
Pizza of The Day - Margherita Pizza
Here is one of the main course of the lunch package. A classic Italian pizza with a thin-crust dough that is usually known for representing the Italian flag; green from basil, red from tomato sauce, and white from the mozzarella cheese. It was a wonderful pizza! A good quality of mozzarella, crispy crust, freshly made pizza, simple yet so delicious!
Besides Pizza of the Day, diners can also choose one of the three kinds of pasta. There are Penne alla Norma, Spaghetti Bolognese, and Seafood Tagliatelle. At first we’re surprised by the portion of pasta; it was so big! Turns out Rosso presents all the selected main course depending on how many persons are on the table, either pasta or pizza. Wow!! Penne alla Norma was served with eggplant, and the Buffalo Ricotta Cheese added some nice flavor to the pasta. It may look simple but tasted delicious! Although it tasted a bit sour, but the Spaghetti Bolognese consists of abundant of beef minced meat and Parmesan cheese on top. Other than that, Seafood Tagliatelle became our favorite pasta of that day. Homemade tagliatelle served with seafood, cherry tomatoes, and a delicious light creamy seafood sauce. I loved the al dente texture, all flavors, and can’t stop looking for mussels, shrimp, squid, etc. inside the pasta. Ha-ha.. 😀

Tiramisu at Rosso is one of the best I’ve ever tried. It was a very light coffee sponge with mascarpone cheese. Profiteroles stuffed with chocolate mousse and crispy almond. Panna Cotta with Vanilla Cream and Raspberry Sauce. Cannoli filled with Buffalo ricotta cheese and candied orange.
