Many people think that healthy food may not be delicious, but not anymore. Eureca Resto and Cafe located in Ruko Versailles BSD, Serpong serves a variety of healthy and tasty food at affordable prices. That’s why they put their slogan “Where healthy meets tasty” on the wall of the second floor. Healthy concept here means they replace some ingredients, with something healthier, for example, they use 40% less fat milk for the Carbonara pasta, low-fat milk, soy milk, etc. in most of the cooking process. They even offer whole wheat pasta and brown rice as a healthy option for visitors.
In order to celebrate the 1st anniversary, Eureca appears with a different atmosphere and presents several new menus. Although the restaurant is not big, but the casual-chic and homey atmosphere looks pretty with pink floral sofa adorning the dining area. Besides that, Eureca Resto and Cafe also has a private room upstairs with a quiet atmosphere to facilitate everyone to various events; such as a sweet seventeen party, birthday parties, meetings, gatherings, etc. with a maximum capacity of 40 persons (including the chair).
On last Saturday, I got a chance to try out some of the latest menus. While waiting for the other guests, I noticed there’s a sweet corner featuring a variety of healthy snacks such as dairy free cookie shot which they made themselves.
Eureca Espresso Smoothies, IDR 40K
I was recommended to try the Eureca Espresso Smoothies. Although I cannot get the creamy texture that a smoothie should have, I enjoyed this drink. It is topped with a few coffee beans, not too sweet and tasted refreshing.
Mushroom Bites, IDR 35K
So Eureca makes delicious new bite-size appetizer, where six pieces of mushroom caps stuffed with smoked beef, smoked chicken, pineapple, tricolor paprika, mozzarella cheese on top baked to perfection with bloody mary sauce. We enjoyed the flavor and the texture of the mushroom, and the filling as well. These savory mushrooms are suitable as a quick and easy snack in the afternoon.
Chicken Breast and Yogurt Sauce, IDR 50K
People still love to eat chicken for its taste and low-fat content. And as we all know, chicken thigh contains slightly more fat than chicken breast. That’s why Eureka provides pan fried marinated chicken breast, beet-root, star anise, brown rice and served it with yogurt sauce. The chicken breast was rather dry at that time because the chicken was not cooked a la minute during the event. But the yogurt sauce adds a nice flavor to the chicken and if you don’t like yogurt, you can opt-in maple sauce.
Grilled Snapper with Spinach Mushroom, IDR 60K
This menu became my favorite of that day. The snapper fillet lightly covered with whole-wheat flour, pan fried and served with spinach, mushroom, baby potato and tartare sauce. The coating was not crisp because the fish wasn’t fried like what we usually find in many other restaurants. But it tasted delicious, especially when I eat them with the salty spinach mushroom and tartare sauce.
Chocolate Molten Cake, IDR 25K
Last but not least, the popular Chocolate Molten cake or usually known as Lava Cake. A warm and soft chocolate sponge cake with chocolate filling, drizzled with chocolate sauce, and a dusting of powdered sugar.
We had a pleasant dining experience during the event. Thank you, Eureca Resto and Cafe for having us. The Mushroom Bites and Snapper became our favorite dish, but I’m still curious about the other healthy menu. Eureca Resto and Cafe opens early from 7am so that everyone can stop by for breakfast. All the innovative menu using healthy ingredients, but still tasty available from salad, pancake, soup, appetizers, main courses, desserts and tea time snacks, with prices ranging from IDR 35K – IDR 80K.
Oh, another good news guys! Currently, they’re giving a 40 % discount for all the new menus and 20% discount on the regular menu until Tues, March 31, 2015. So, what are you waiting? Book now!
