Yay! Finally, Go! Curry opened a new branch in Lippo Mall Puri, the newest and happening mall in West Jakarta. This restaurant is located on the 1st floor in another building of Lippo Mall Puri, where Go! Curry is the only restaurant that has been opened for business. Cool! In addition, the new Cinema XXI apparently also took part in increasing visitor traffic to this new area in Lippo Mall Puri. So, when we passed by this restaurant, we saw a sign that Go! Curry gives 20% off discount during the soft opening, so we decided to try it. The restaurant is not too big, but everything looks neat and comfortable with minimalist wooden tables and chairs. 914914914
Go! Curry offers a variety of Japanese comfort food that focuses on curry, and the menu is flexible because each customer can customize for their curry dishes to match their taste. In addition to a variety of curries, they also serve several choices of pasta, unique pizza and sandwich. All the menu seems interesting, but first, we started our dinner by ordering their specialty drinks!
Pineapple Lime Mojito, IDR 29K
So I got a recommendation from the waiter to try this mojito. A simple tropical twist mojito made of lime juice, fresh pineapple, and crushed mint leaves. It was simply delicious and refreshing.
Strawberry Lassi, IDR 35K
Strawberry Lassi was also one of their recommendations. It’s a Yoghurt-based drink, which they claimed to be perfect when eating curry. This drink is made with homemade fresh yogurt, fresh strawberries and milk, so it wasn’t too sour for my personal taste. The creamy texture made it similar to a strawberry smoothie, quite filling and refreshing, making it a good beverage option for summers.
There are 4 steps to order the curry dish in Go! Curry. First, we have to choose the curry sauce. Second, choose the spiciness level. Third, choose the rice and the last one, we can choose for the topping. At first we ordered for Breaded Prawns with Brown Curry among 8 other curry dishes, but unfortunately, they run out of prawns when we came. So I changed the order become Rogan Josh Curry – Medium Spicy – Cilantro Butter Rice – and Chicken Katsu as the topping.
Chicken Katsu Rogan Josh Curry, IDR 69K
Rogan Josh Curry is a special curry, unlike the typical Japanese curry that I’ve ever tasted in Jakarta. It’s a hot and spicy Indian curry made from slow-cooked lamb dish for 4 hours. The delicious curry smells were enticing, very aromatic with lots of spices, and it had loads of flavor. Hearty, rich and flavorsome with a medium spiciness, become a good companion for the tender and crisp Chicken Katsu. If you want a flavorful rice, don’t forget to opt-in the Cilantro Butter Rice like I did.
Lamb Aglio Olio Pasta, IDR 76K
The Lamb Aglio Olio is a best-seller menu from the selection of pasta, so I decided to try it. Although the portion of spaghetti was too little, but juicy, and thick chunks of lamb, made it become a delicious meal that instantly becomes our favorite that night. It had a delightful combination of flavors, flavored with chili flakes, olive oil, and garlic. So delicious!
Overall from our experience, we were satisfied with all the food and drinks above at Go! Curry. The waiters were very helpful when explaining the four steps in choosing our curry. If you want to satisfy your curry craving, I suggest you to visit Go! Curry and try our their curry dishes.
