Burger for brunch this weekend? Yes, why not? So, Three Buns has this new program called Weekend Brunch, and Breakfast Bites started this month, April 2015. I went there last Saturday to try out some of their menus, and on arrival, this place was packed already with parents who accompany their children. It turned out there was an event named Peanut Butter and Jelly Time for Kids Activities in Three Buns. And I noticed that Three Buns had changed their interior, which is now cooler, much better than when I visited them the beginning of the opening in April last year.
Sherbie Hancock, IDR 35K / Tropical Thunder, IDR 50K
I always liked their homemade Soda Drink, and Sherbie Hancock is one of them. This refreshing soda drink made from homemade lemonade mixed with orange, lemon, lime, and grapefruit. But if you like a sweeter drink, you might like Tropical Thunder Mocktail. It’s made of rum with pineapple, passion fruit, Angostura bitters, lime and spiced sugar.
For the Weekend Brunch menus, Three Buns offers five menus, which divided into two categories; savory and sweet. There are three menus from the Savory part, but I only ordered two of them; Kaya West and Kid n Play. While from the sweet part, I ordered both menus; Peanut Butter & Jelly Time, and Naughty Puppy.

Kaya West Burger, IDR 55K
I’m a fan of Kaya (Srikaya/Coconut jam), and Three Buns made a very nice homemade Kaya based on a family recipe handed down by their head chef of Three Buns in Singapore. It has a nice aroma, served with a lovely poached egg, butter, sweet soy glaze and a side of tater tots (made of deep-fried grated potatoes). Although Kaya West Burger looked simple, it tasted unique and delicious where the sweet taste of Kaya mixed perfectly with the egg! I think this Burger is suitable for vegetarians as well.
Kid N Play Burger, IDR 80K
Well, don’t be surprised if you order Kid n Play Burger. Yes! This burger only consisted of roasted Portobello mushroom, fried egg, arugula, garlic butter, and truffle oil with lots of cheese. It was served with an English muffin and a side of tater tots. The cheese and truffle oil really made this a treat, and because I’m a mushroom lover, I enjoyed this burger until the last bite! This burger can be a nice alternative for vegetarians too!
Naughty Puppy Fries, IDR 30K
Naughty Puppy sounds unique but apparently this was just donut fries. Yup! Deep fried dough, cut in the form of French fries, smothered with vanilla bean custard and topped with morello cherry ketchup, praline, and mint. I liked the idea, but this donut fries was not my favorite. However, kids will love them!
Peanut Butter and Jelly Time, IDR 70K
So, here’s the burger, which kids made at the kids activities when I came. It was one of the unique burgers made by Three Buns from the sweet categories. The combination of smooth peanut butter ice cream, and sweet Morello cherry ketchup, with shiso leaf, peanut brittle, and white chocolate bun, was comforting and quite filling. It’s served with a side of doughnut fries. The grownups will love this if they are fans of PB&J, and for sure, kids love this!
Of all the above menus, Kaya West, and Kid N Play became my most favorite weekend brunch menus among the rest. Yes, I tend to like savory foods rather than sweet. In addition, the Four Floors Burger with double prime 100g beef patties and double cheese in Three Buns remains a champion for me. So, when you’re craving for burgers for brunch, come over to Three Buns and don’t forget to bring your kids to enjoy the weekend brunch menus. Next time, I will try The Ronnie, which consists of chicken sausage patty, cheese, fried egg, etc. from the savory section that I haven’t tried. It seems good! But, it’s your turn to give it a try and let me know your experience.
