[NEW SPOT] Happiness in a Bowl of Xing Fu Soya at Tang Yuan Dessert

When crossing the road along Tanjung Duren (West Jakarta), I saw a new dessert place called Tang Yuan Dessert and remembered that I had seen a few pictures on social media about this place. Tang Yuan Dessert located right next Optik Mega, so you can easily spot this place. We were too tired because we have just returned from a pilgrimage and the sun also very hot lately. It made us crave for something fresh, and finally we decided to stop by for a while to Tang Yuan Dessert before returning home.

The place is quite spacious, but there were not many people inside when we came. The minimalist decoration mixes with some colorful chair simply nice for a dessert shop and creates a cozy ambiance for everyone to enjoy dessert.

Right in front of the entrance there is a big board displaying all dessert names and its prices. As you can see here, all dessert comes at reasonable prices, ranging from IDR 20K to IDR 67K.

Mellow Milo, IDR 20K

At first I wanted a cup of hot chocolate, but then I changed my mind. I had Mellow Milo, which made with chocolate milk, served cold and topped with yummy marshmallows and Milo powder drizzled on top. It was not thick and not too creamy, but it tasted nice and simply refreshing!

Xing Fu Soya, IDR 40K

I’ve been craving for a kind of dessert like this (Taiwanese dessert style) over the last two weeks and finally I had one in Tang Yuan Dessert. The presentation and taste were similar to the other dessert house such as H**gt***, Bl***b***, etc. if you know what I mean. The entire combination of this menu is my favorite. There are grass jelly, taro pudding, egg pudding, Mochi, red bean, black sticky rice (zimi), mung bean, and chewy q balls in soya milk. It also topped with a choice of ice cream and, of course, I chose the green tea ice cream! It was not too sweet, so we can finish the generous servings. All the different texture and flavors were also enjoyable! It really made my day! But if you don’t like soya milk, you can opt-in for something else then.

As a new dessert cafe which has been operating for a couple months ago, they serve a wide variety of interesting desserts that won’t make people get bored easily. Honey Thick Toast Ovamaltine, Bird Nest Longan, Mango Sticky Rice, and much more! Not only cold and hot desserts, but also some snacks and meals, such as Mini Martabak, Bunny Fried Rice, Tom Yum Noodle, etc. I think any cold dessert like this always works on hot days like in Jakarta. So, whenever you’re around West Jakarta and crave for desserts, you can stop by at Tang Yuan Asian Dessert.

all area is non smoking room – cash only – all prices are subject to 10% tax
