For those of you who live in West Jakarta, especially in Tanjung Duren area, I have good news for you. There’s a new cafe called Cafetaria All Day Cafe and Study Lounge, a new cafe that had opened since last Friday, May 1, 2015. As we all know, Tanjung Duren area has become one of the culinary centers in West Jakarta, ranging from street foods to cool cafes or restaurants. Located in a row of shophouses next to Family Mart near the Mediterranean apartment in Tanjung Duren, Cafetaria Study Lounge occupies a small shop and lack of parking spaces.

But they make everything look neat and as comfortable as possible so that it can accommodate more people. Interestingly, on the 3rd floor there is a study area that is very convenient. Here, visitors can order food or drink while studying and enjoying super-fast Internet at speeds 4x faster than normal.

Milo Godzilla, IDR 50K

Milo drinks certainly brought back my childhood memories, and I like either way hot or cold. I was tempted to try the Milo Godzilla at Cafetaria Study Lounge. And you know what? The Milo drink was served a liter in a large pitcher and I found lots of Milo powder and crunchy cookies sprinkled on top. It was simply delicious and refreshing!

In addition to coffee and the non-coffee drink, they also serve some signature iced drinks. If you want a booster juice, try Avocado Lava, which made from pure avocado and topped with cocoa powder and chocolate milk. The Mango Monkey Smoothie also tasted delicious where slightly sour flavor derived from the mango sorbet by New Zealand Natural mixed with fresh bananas. Both beverages were a great energy boost. We loved it!

Calamari, IDR 29K

Fried calamari is a classic appetizer that I always looked for in any cafe or restaurant. Even though, the squid was covered with a thick batter coating; it was crispy yet tender and without rubber band texture. It tasted delicious and made me couldn’t stop munching it, but it will be great if it can be served with a dipping sauce, either mayonnaise or sweet-sour chili.

Corn Cream Soup, IDR 29K

The corn soup also tasted good though it was too sweet for my personal liking. However, I loved the creamy texture of the soup. It was quite filling and comforting.

Crispy Nachos, IDR 29K

For an afternoon snack, Crispy Nachos could be a good choice. This nachos was crispy and served with savory beans, fresh toppings like salsa, guacamole, and sour cream. Best eaten when you mix all together.

Bulldog Burger, IDR 50K

Bulldog burger was served with double beef patty, smoked beef, cheese, tomato, and lettuce with BBQ sauce and potato wedges on the side. It’s one of their signature dishes, but, unfortunately, it wasn’t my favorite despite its tasty BBQ sauce. The bun was squished down, and the meat was easily falling apart and too mushy for my personal liking.

Crunchy Mushroom Rice Bowl, IDR 35K

I instantly fell in love with the Crunchy Mushroom Rice Bowl. It was a simple rice bowl with fried mushrooms and fried onions on top, flavored with teriyaki sauce and had a subtle kick from chili flakes. The mushroom was very crunchy, just the way I like it. It made a satisfying vegetarian main or side dish for everyone, especially for mushroom lovers like me.

Overall from my experience, both of us enjoyed their drinks, appetizers and a bowl of Crunchy Mushroom rice for the main course. Cafetaria All Day Cafe and Study Lounge indeed located in a strategic area, and they offer meals and drinks at affordable prices; food and drink ranging from Rp. 29.000 to Rp. 50.000. No wonder this place is always crowded full of students from schools and colleges near the cafe. There are also many young adults who come to this place. If you happen to be around West Jakarta, don’t forget to stop by to Cafetaria.
