[NEW SPOT] Let’s Have Breakfast, Lunch and Coffee at Cayenne

Kemang is known as one of the popular spots in town with its variety of culinary destinations. The presence of Breakfast at Cayenne, which has just opened recently, exactly a month ago, should be included in the list of culinary dining. I found this cafe when I was doing a random thing a week ago around there. Of course, it would be easier for you to find this place if you are familiar with the furniture gallery called Cayenne because the cafe itself is located adjacent to the gallery. They provide a large parking space, but, unfortunately, the dining area is still limited. But despite the petite cafe, the minimalist decor arrangement, which is dominated by wood elements and tiny green plants on top of each table make the atmosphere comfortable as being at home. One of the waiters told me that they have plans to open an outdoor seating area as a smoking area using the garden area in the middle of the gallery. Well, that’s nice!

Breakfast at Cayenne doesn’t offer too much food and drink in their menu list at the moment. But I saw there was some American, Tex-Mex, and also Italian dishes that seems interesting to try. I’ve tried their Hot Latte, but for me, there’s nothing special about it. However, I really liked the Lime Vanilla Ice Tea. A blend of sliced lime and vanilla syrup tasted so refreshing, and we can adjust the sweetness as they provide separate sugar on the side.

Breakfast Burritos, IDR 59K

I love to try something new and unusual; that’s why I chose the Breakfast Burritos as recommended by the waiter. They used warm flour tortillas for this and stuffed with scrambled eggs, sauteed vegetables, avocado, beef bacon, and cheese. All the flavors were blended perfectly, and the avocado added a fresh note to the overall flavor. Best to eat them with hot salsa and homemade sour cream, which they served on the side. It was so delicious and perfect for on the go breakfast.

Salmon Cakes with Lemon Aioli, IDR 63K

Salmon is a good source of Omega 3, and we were tempted to order this menu as well. The salmon patty was delicious, moist, flavorful, thick and held together perfectly. The poached egg, which topped with a heavenly drizzle of hollandaise sauce was not too lemony; I liked it. It was also served with crispy potato chips and fresh salad on the side, just the right amount to start my morning. Scrumptious!

It was my first visit, and we enjoyed everything in this cafe. The food was indeed delicious and well presented, friendly and quick service, and reasonably priced as well. If you’re looking for a quick and tasty breakfast or lunch, Breakfast at Cayenne is a decent place to visit, especially if you are around South Jakarta. The ambiance and the food at this cafe instantly reminded me of a Tanda Funtastrip program that held by OCBC NISP Bank. Only by increasing the balance of 360° savings at OCBC NISP Bank, I can have a greater chance to win a trip to Paris. I want to be one of the lucky ones and if you also want it, click here to see their program.
