AEON Mall BSD City has become one of the hippiest malls since it opened in late May 2015 and this mall attracts many visitors from different locations. AEON Mall is a brand from the heart of Japan; that’s why the food and restaurants that available in this mall is mostly Japanese food. In AEON Mall, I found a special place to eat Ramen called Ramen Village where the concept of this Ramen Village reminds me of the Ramen Museum that we visited in Japan last year. Various Japanese Ramen is available in one location that makes it easy for every visitor to find their desired Ramen.
This time I’m going to share with you the happening Ramen Village, which is located on Mezzonet Floor of the 3rd floor Aeon Mall. I counted there were seven Ramen houses that have different specialities and all of them offer Ramen as a major portion of their menus; Hakata Men-Oh, Kazan Ramen, Ramen Kanbe, Ramen Nagi, Ramen Seirock-ya, Seirokuya Ramen and Tokyo Ramen Tabushi. There are so many Ramen to choose from, but in this visit, we had a chance to try two of the Ramen houses, and both of them offer Pork Ramen, which is a good option for all pork lovers like us!! Yay!
Hakata Men-Oh Ramen House

Chasu Ramen, IDR 75K++ - non halal
In the beginning, I have already queued up at the two Ramen house that’s available on the front side of the Ramen Village, but unfortunately they do not offer Pork Ramen. That’s why I immediately moved and lined up in front of Hakata Men-Oh Ramen. Of course, Chashu Ramen became our top choice. A rich and soothing classic pork broth came with thin noodles and melt-in-the-mouth sliced char siu on top. The pork charsiu was so tender and falling apart easily!
Chicken Gyoza (Oroshi Gyoza), IDR 48K++ - halal
Here, they also provide some side dishes. I was tempted to order one of their favorite side dishes, Oroshi Gyoza. A platter of delicious Chicken Gyoza that has been fried and served with ponzu sauce on the side. What makes it different was the grated radish on top which added a new dimension to the classic Gyoza. It was so delicious!
Ramen Nagi
Our Ramen experience didn’t end there. Both of us moved to the next store, Ramen Nagi. Ramen Nagi received the Ramen Prize award in Japan from 2013-2015 and they have many branches in Shibuya, Shinjuku, Komagome, and has expanded their outlets to Hongkong, Taiwan, and now in Jakarta. What differs from this place to the other Ramen houses is because Ramen Nagi offers a variety of Ramen with a wider choice of broth and meat. Besides noodles, they also have many exciting menus such as Yakimono, various sushi, pork rice, salad, curry rice, sausages, etc.

Ebio Ramen, IDR 58K++ - non halal
Interestingly, there are many broth flavors that’s available in Ramen Nagi; the original broth, pepper, shrimp, roasted red pepper ramen, Japanese curry ramen, and savory onions ramen. Instead of choosing the regular tonkotsu broth, I decided to try the Ebio Ramen, which comes with shrimp paste and shrimp powder in the broth. It smelled so good! The shrimp tonkotsu broth added a different layer of flavor than the usual soup, makes it unique and more flavorful.
We also ordered the Cheese Sausage but, unfortunately, we had to wait for almost 40 minutes and then the waiter came to me with the normal sausage which he took directly from the skewer counter. It was entirely different from what I see on the menu, so I canceled the sausage, paid at the cashier and went home. The Ebio Ramen tasted delicious, but we were disappointed with the slow service that we’ve experienced and how they gave us the wrong sausage.
Overall from our experience, we were satisfied with the Chasu Ramen and Ebio Ramen on the above picture. If you want to satisfy your ramen needs, whether it’s for Halal or Non-Halal Ramen, you should visit this Ramen Village and try each one of them perhaps. Bring your loved one or family and let’s do ramen-hopping at Ramen Village in AEON Mall BSD City. Yup! We’re still curious about the rest of the Ramen Houses, so we will definitely come back to try some others.
