We had been invited to the Grand Opening night in last August 2015 together with the media, but, unfortunately, we can’t join them that day. That’s why we had this special evening together with Hans and some other food bloggers. Because the Iced Lychee Tea and Iced Peach Tea are one of their favorite drinks, we opted-in for both drinks. Then, we started our dinner with the hearty Pumpkin Soup. The soup was quite creamy, full of body and flavor, tasty and comforting!

The Hurricane’s Grill offers a variety of menus from chicken, ribs, vegetables, burgers, fresh salads, and desserts too. So, that night, we had the privilege to try their signature dishes, such as the Double Decker Burger, Pork Belly, Steak Rolls, and some desserts. I was pretty excited with the first dish when they served me with the Double Decker Burger (IDR 288K) on the table, look! The Burger was huge; I couldn’t finish it by myself! This burger consisted of double beef patties (400gm) served with melted cheese, onion rings, caramelized truffle onion, and signature mushroom sauce. So, forget about the knife and fork, I suggest you to enjoy it with your hands because after all, it would be a mess! Ha-ha.. 😀

The Steak Roll (IDR 238K) was not much different from the burger on top. It was like a subs-sandwich, in which brown bread stuffed with fillet tenderloin with caramelized onions and aioli, served on a bed of rocket vegetables, and of course, with a choice of potato, either fries or baked potato. Although the bread looked dry, it was actually soft and tasty for the overall flavor.

Enough with beef, now I want to share with you the sinful Signature Pork Ribs (IDR 548K – Full Rack) and Pork Belly (IDR 258K). Aha, yes, you heard me! Both of us were attracted not only by the delicious smell of ribs, but the Pork Ribs and Pork Belly was really awesome! A full rack of ribs marinated in a special sauce became the main star that evening! The meat was succulent, flavorful, easily fall-off-the-huge-bones, and very tasty! The ribs are to die for! So get your hands dirty and make sure you try it! If you can’t eat pork, do not worry, because they also offer Beef Ribs as well.

Besides the Signature Pork Ribs, we fell in love with their Pork Belly too. The meat was beautifully tender! The crispness of the skin on top as a result of twice cooked process served on a bed of coleslaw and periperi jus became another meal to remember!

Last but not least, we also tried some signature desserts; Pistachio Berries Cake (IDR 68K), Chocolate Fudge Cake (IDR 68K), and Caramel Mars Bar Cheesecake (IDR 128K). Remember to save some space in your tummy to try any of these delightful desserts!

Overall, it was a great dining experience with good service, good portions, in a cozy and romantic ambiance. They also have a good selection of wine too to go with your meal. You cannot miss the Hurricane’s Grill Jakarta on your next culinary destination!
