[NEW SPOT] The Kitchen, A NEW Concept by Pizza Hut Indonesia

New restaurants continue to open all the time, and I want to share a good news with you, especially for all pizza lovers! There’s a new restaurant opened in Pondok Indah Mall 2 (PIM 2), South Jakarta. It’s called The Kitchen by Pizza Hut, which is a new concept introduced by Pizza Hut Indonesia just opened on Monday, Oct 12, 2015. I believe you’re all familiar with the Pizza Hut brand, the well-known pizza chain restaurant that has more than 11,000 branches worldwide. By looking at the rapid growth in the F&B industry of the Indonesian market and the growth of culinary lovers in Jakarta, Pizza Hut creates a new concept that has never existed before in other pizza restaurants.

Remember the Marugame Udon restaurant, or maybe you have visited this restaurant several times? So, the ordering system at The Kitchen by Pizza Hut has the same way as Marugame Udon and several other restaurants. As usual, we ordered at the counter, then chose the desired Pizza. All the pizza come in 18″ size, it’s huge!! Not only that, we can buy the pizza by the slice. This new concept allows diners to enjoy their favorite flavor of pizza without the needed to buy one big pizza pan with the same flavor for everyone on the table. Wooohooo! And when we got the Pizza, we move down the line to take the side dishes, such as fresh salads, Bruschetta, Creamy Mushroom Soup, Chicken Wings, Potato Wedges, etc. and drinks, and desserts for additional costs.

There are several options for the drinks, but we were interested in trying the Fruit Juice drink that’s available at the drink counter. All the juices are made fresh by Pizza Hut. The Apple Melon and Guava Orange Juice (IDR 32K each) both tasted so refreshing. For appetizers, we had the Sunshine Bruschetta, Tomato Cheery Bruschetta, Creamy Mushroom Soup (IDR 25K) and Caesar Salad (IDR 35K). The combination of red cherries with sour cream and scrambled eggs with beef ham, made both Bruschetta become a simple Italian dishes, ideal for any time of a day. The mushroom soup filled with hearty chopped mushrooms, but I prefer a creamier texture of the soup. If you are looking for a healthy and light option, try their Caesar Salad served with fresh vegetables and a simple salad dressing.

I was tempted with other side dishes displayed at the counter. So we took some of them, such as crispy fried Chicken Wings, Potato Wedges, and Sausage in a blanket. Some of this menu also come with a choice of dipping sauces, for example, the chicken wings can be paired with a spicy or non-spicy dipping sauce. These side dishes were simple yet addictive, great for snack time in the afternoon with friends or colleagues.

The Kitchen by Pizza Hut offers all pizza lovers with an 18-inch pizza like no other in Jakarta, and the best part, they cut it into six pieces! Wooohoo, that’s huge! There are five flavors of pizza, but we tried the classic Margherita Pizza (IDR 165K for whole pizza or IDR 28K for one slice). A large hand-tossed thin crust pizza that I simply adorned, covered with homemade tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and basil leaves with pesto sauce on top. Crisp yet chewy crust, it was delicious and simply classic!

The Spaghetti Aglio Olio also tasted good. It’s a classic Italian pasta dish that has always been my favorite. The red pepper flakes added a little bit of spiciness on the pasta though it wasn’t too spicy for the overall taste. It was simple, delicious and comforting!

Besides the Margherita Pizza, you might also like the other 4 pizza flavors, such as Hawaii Aloha Pizza, Salami Jalapeno Pizza, Bratwurst Pizza, and La Gourmet Pizza which is the complete version of all pizza that’s available at The Kitchen by Pizza Hut. Overall, I really like this new concept by Pizza Hut and easier for us to enjoy many flavors of pizza by the slice. If you are a fan of Pizza, you should experience it with your friends, family, and colleagues. It will be fun!
