[NEW POST] Top 10 Finalist Panasonic Cooking Competition at Atrium MKG5, Kelapa Gading

Just a few days ago, we attended the Top 10 finalist Panasonic Cooking Competition at the Mall Kelapa Gading 5 (MKG5), South Jakarta. I realized that this event was the final stage of the Panasonic Cooking Online Competition 2016 which was held in October to November 2015. For some people who are looking for a place to unleash their hidden talent, joined in the cooking competition is one of the exciting things to do. So, as part of the commitment in commemorating the National Nutrition Day 2016, Panasonic held the Panasonic Cooking Online Competition 2016 which is a cooking competition that’s available for Indonesian people who cares about living a better life through a healthy, nutritious diet.

A warm welcome speech by Mr. Yasunori Takase, Marketing Director of PT. Panasonic Gobel Indonesia marked the event start, followed by the Healthy Life Talkshow with Andien Aisyah (one of Indonesian’s most talented singer), Chef Lucky Andreono (the winner of Season 1 MasterChef Indonesia), and Dr. Yustina Anie Indriastuti, MSc., SpGK.

As a Vice President of Indonesia Medical Nutritionists Association (PDGMI), Dr. Yustina emphasized, “People should have a balanced diet every day. By choosing various types of food that contain sufficient amount of carbohydrate, proteins, healthy fats, vegetables, fruits, and fiber, managing the amount of food that they consume, also doing the proper way of processing food will increase the quality of diet to make it healthier and more nutritious. I believe by preparing or cooking the food by ourselves, we can adjust the variety of menu as well as the types and the amount of food that we eat based on our personal health records.”

According to Chef Lucky, “Consumers are more critical of their diet nowadays. They have realized that it is not enough to only consume a healthy meal considering the important role of processing food in determining whether or not their food contains the sufficient amount of nutrient. Thus, as a chef, I continually innovate so that customer can get what they want, both in terms if the nutrition and aesthetics aspects.”

It’s true that the Indonesian people are now more aware of the quality of the food they consume. It’s one of the reasons that encourage Panasonic to help their customers in meeting their needs for kitchen appliances that provides simplicity and satisfaction while cooking. Right before the Cooking Competition started, Panasonic allows three selected guests to try one of their line-up products, a Blender with 3 in 1 Functions (Blender Juicer / Blender / Mill).

In this event, Panasonic also showcases all Panasonic Small Home Appliances (Product Cooking) product line-up such as the Digital Rice Cooker, Bread Maker, Juice Mixer, etc. where they are made with high quality of materials (Japan quality). There are four different booths that allow guests to know more about each product, how to process the food, and so much more. What surprised me was not only the 13 in 1 Rice Cooker but the Bread Maker that can quickly produce soft bread at home as desired.

As a little background where all ten finalists came from, I want to share a bit of information about the preliminary stages of Panasonic Cooking Online Competition 2016. Participants who took part in the competition registered themselves by clicking “like” on Panasonic Indonesia fan page and uploaded Asian recipes as well as the picture of their creation to Panasonic Indonesia Facebook Account. Finally, 254 participants had registered and shared their 489 recipes through the competition. They were required to collect the most votes to be chosen as the top 50 participants, and after that, Panasonic selected the top 10 finalists.

Not only from Jakarta, but some participants also come from outside the city, such as Tangerang, Cibubur, Palembang, Bali, North Sumatra and Surabaya. At the live cooking competition, all the finalists were challenged to recreate their favorite recipes using the kitchen appliances presented by Panasonic Small Home Appliances (Product Cooking). In addition to that, the competition was judged by a panel of credible experts in the culinary industry, namely; Chef Lucky Andreono, and nutritionist Dr. Yustina Anie. I can feel there was so much pressure that happens at the final stage of this competition, but they all seemed to enjoy it!
