Recently, I received one exclusive event invites that make me excited, and grateful to be part of this event. It was the Hennessy X.O Appreciation Grows held at the Grand Ballroom of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, in South Jakarta. I realized that this was the second year for them to celebrate in Jakarta, and Hennessy X.O returned this year to bring Maurice Hennessy and the famous Malaysian Chef, Darren Chin, to Jakarta. The presence of the eighth generation of Maison Hennessy, Maurice Hennessy was one of the major highlights on this night, because he especially fly to Jakarta from Cognac, France, to witness the celebration of Hennessy X.O in the eastern hemisphere world.
The highlight of this event is the Hennessy X.O Exclusive Collection Gold Edition, which is a collection with a sturdy bottle design by the British industrial designer, Tom Dixon. The bottle design of this Gold edition has a reflectivity, the value of balance and elegance in design where it’s made of glass like a mosaic, with shades of gold polygon repeated into the outer layer.
I’m still amazed how they transformed the ballroom into a modern French garden with a row of trees along the hallway and put other charming elements in the room. Everything was well prepared, from the decorations, food, and some special performances such as from Maliq & D’Essentials, the famous sand artist, Vina Candrawati, and a quartet violinist Telaga Cantik. Chef Darren, who is also the owner of a fine-dining restaurant in Kuala Lumpur (DC Restaurant), has prepared four exclusive dishes to be paired with Hennessy X.O, served well with ice, water, or pure. Overall, this was one of the best invites so far that I have gotten, thank you Hennessy X.O for having us!
