Yuhuuu, I’m calling out all sushi lovers out there, I have good news for you! This afternoon I went to Sushi Hiro restaurant, a newly opened restaurant three days ago (on Sunday, June 5, 2016) in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), North Jakarta. Sushi Hiro is a modern chic Japanese restaurant located right next to Dapur Buntut PIK, which features both dining room and a sushi bar with a nice wooden decor and a welcoming ambiance in the restaurant. As a new addition to PIK, Sushi Hiro serves up both omakase and a la carte menu, ranging from sushi, sashimi, moriawase, grilled, donburi, ramen, and udon.
There are nearly 200 exciting dishes available at Sushi Hiro, but we were able to try some of their signature dishes. One bite not to be missed is the Aburi Hotate Beef Foie Gras (IDR 80K/piece) lightly torched and paired with thick scallop with the thin slice of Foie gras and sliced beef on top. Oh my gosh, it was so goooood!!! Other highlights include some signature sushi rolls such as the Aburi Beef Onsen Egg Roll (IDR 40K) wrapped with thinly sliced beef
that’s finished with a torch and special glazed, Shiok Maki (130K), Tamago Aburi Salmon Cheese (IDR 80K), Aburi Kagoshima Beef (IDR 65K), Beef Hobayaki (IDR 90K), and Ultimate Truffle Gyu Don (IDR 85K).
The sushi here, are all well-made, and they have a unique collection of sushi. Whether you want your sushi with Foie Gras, Uni, Scallop, etc, you can request what you want. Yay!
Another highlight was the Sushi Stairs at Sushi Hiro. When you order any sushi rolls at Sushi Hiro, the sushi will be presented in a cute wooden staircase plating which available to fit four, six, and eight sushi. The first sushi stair consists of 8 mix sushi, such as 2 pieces of Volcano Roll, 2 pieces of Aburi Salmon Mentai Sushi, 2 pieces of Aburi Salmon Cheese Sushi, Aburi Salmon Sushi with Uni, and Aburi Salmon Sushi with Foie Gras. While the second stair, it consists of 6 pieces of mix sushi, such as 2 pieces of Aburi Beef Onsen Egg Roll, 2 pieces of Aburi Beef Sushi with Garlic Chips, and 2 pieces of Inari Foie Gras. Last but not least, the third stair consists of 4 pieces of Salmon Volcano Roll. Honestly saying, all the sushi tasted delicious, and I hardly get to choose which is which my most favorite sushi. But if you are looking for something that’s really unique, you have to try the Aburi Beef Onsen Egg Roll!
Although it was a bit too salty for me, the Beef Hobayaki was unique, and it tasted good too. The beef is served with miso paste on a leaf on a charcoal heater. It’s something that you should not miss when you dine at Sushi Hiro. For something more filling, you can try the Ultimate Truffle Gyu Don, which served with onsen tamago on top. The beef was tender and perfectly cooked, but I expected more truffle on it. Overall, it was a great lunch experience at Sushi Hiro. I stayed there until dinner time, and seeing a lot of people come to the restaurant, so I suggest you make a reservation to avoid the queues.
