[NEW SPOT] Porto Bistreau – Affordable Gourmet Dining You Need To Know in Gading Serpong

I’ve heard about Porto Bistreau which located in Gading Serpong (Tangerang) several times from my friends and finally decided to visit this restaurant last Sunday. We went there for lunch, and the restaurant seemed crowded on the first floor. I like to sit on the 2nd floor, but they did not allow me because they were short on waiters. I was a bit disappointed, but I’m trying to understand the situation. At that time, only two tables were remaining on the first floor, and we opted to sit near the entrance. And you know what? About 15 minutes later, another guest came in, and they allowed the new guests to sit on the 2nd floor. Ha-ha..

Although the restaurant opened in early February 2016, it is still considered as a new restaurant. Located at Ruko Golden complex Gading Serpong, on the same row with Turning Point Coffee and The Daily Press Coffee Shop, Porto Bistreau apparently manages under the same Group with Nanny’s Pavillon and Wild Grass Restaurant, Altima Mandiri Group. No wonder the ambiance in this restaurant is so cozy, with a touch of modern and cute decor. And with their tagline, World Culinary Adventure, they are confident with what they can offer to their guests.

Either indoor or outdoor, both dining room has a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere that makes everyone want to stay longer in the restaurant.

For an appetizer, I ordered Champignon De Paris (IDR 39K) from the menu. The mushroom soup was quite creamy, smooth, and has intensely earthy flavors of mushroom which I like. And best of all, it also topped with delicious imported Australian melted mozzarella and served with crispy crouton on the side.

For the main course, we ordered Hanging Tender (IDR 59K), and Wagyu Melting Cheese (IDR 89K). The Hanging Tender name on the menu reflects the tasty cut of Australian Hanging Tender which is sometimes called “butcher steak.” It was grilled in the level of medium rare, presented nicely as simple as that with rock salt and black pepper, and the meat was so juicy and tasty!

While the Wagyu Melting Cheese or Australian Hamburg Melting Cheese was really good! The grilled Australian beef patty was so juicy and stuffed with cheese goodness such as melting cheddar and mozzarella cheese. The patty size was quite big, topped with delicious Porto sauce, and beautiful sunny-side up egg, and served with vegetables and homemade potato wedges. We did not order any fancy drinks, only Fruity Camomile by Tea Caddy (IDR 59K) which was perfect to balance all the meals we ordered. My other reason was also that I saw other tables ordered the tea, and it’s served in such a beautiful teapot and two cups of tea for two persons. So, why not? Ha-ha..

If you’re a tea lover, you will love it too! Psst, there are five different flavors of tea, so you can ask for what’s flavor available from the waiter. Overall, it was a great lunch experience we will not soon forget in Porto Bistreau. We would recommend you to visit this restaurant when you’re in Gading Serpong area. Psst, good news for those who live in West Jakarta, because they will open a new branch in Central Park Mall soon. Can’t wait! Thank you for reading! 🙂
