[NEW BALI] Mofo Kitchen for a lovely Brunch in Petitenget, Seminyak

This is probably the second time I visited Bali this year, and it was fun to be here again. As the most popular tourist spots, Bali has so many new cafes or coffee shops popping up here and there, and I know it is impossible to visit all of them in a few days. Ha-ha.. But I’m glad to be visiting some new places and earlier today; I went to Mofo Kitchen for breakfast because this cafe is located very near to where I stay in Petitenget, Seminyak area. From the exterior, the cafe looks small, but it’s actually quite spacious on the inside. Mofo Kitchen is a casual cafe, which opened in March 2016, that offers a variety of breakfast and western menu, in a cozy, laid back atmosphere that makes you wanna stay longer inside.

I came in around 10 am, and it was quiet inside. There’s a table with this Australian girl who was enjoying her breakfast while she was reading a novel. She seemed to enjoy her me-time. I like the idea of having my me-time as well, and now I’m thinking of having a full body massage after this trip. Oh gosh, I’m so tired! Well, anyway… You know what? A few minutes later, the other guests were coming so few tables quickly filled. As you can see from my Snap Chat account, I was alone on this trip, but you know, as a food blogger I was curious to try some of their signature menus. Ha-ha.. So this morning, I ordered the Egg in a Jar (IDR 50K), Blooming Onion (IDR 45K), and Merah Putih Smoothie (IDR 45K)Egg in a Jar is part of the All-Day Breakfast menu which only available from 9 am to 6 pm.

Their menus are quite interesting because they also have some Egg Benedicts, Burger, Snacks, and Salads. And not only Fresh Fruit Smoothies, but Mofo Kitchen also offers Coffees, Premium Teas, Mocktails, and House Juice Blends. Among all the menus that I ordered, the Egg in a Jar was my favorite followed by the Merah Putih Smoothie. Perfectly runny poached eggs served with crispy pork bacon, smoked cheese, caviar d’ aubergine, mixed summer vegetables, and lemongrass foam. It was simply mouthwatering and so yummy!!

The combination of red and white dragonfruit with strawberry, lychee, honey, and yogurt in Merah Putih Smoothie tasted incredibly fresh and so good! Highly recommended! I expect the blooming onion can be crispier than what I got, but the chili sauce that accompanied the fried onion tasted delicious. They even sell the Mofo Chili (a kind of Menado chili) separately so diners can buy and take it home. After I paid my bill (total of IDR 161K after tax and service), the owner of the restaurant

came over and greeted me. Thanks Fio for the complimentary Sweet Banana dessert! Psst, she has a super cute corgi, and if you’re lucky you can meet Medzo and take pictures with him too. Ha-ha.. 😀 Overall, I enjoyed everything. Good vibes, affordable prices for all the food and drink considered it’s in Seminyak, friendly and attentive service, I highly recommend this place and will definitely come again!
