[LONDON] Winter Wonderland – Christmas Festive Hyde Park 2016

Do you believe that dreams do come true? Some of you might think it’s a coincidence, but if you ask me, I would say, yes, I do believe! About a week ago, I just came back from London, UK (England). It’s one of the many trips that I desired for a long time, and finally, it came true. There’re so many special places to go in London that I’d like to share with you and I was very lucky as in London, there are so many beautiful places to explore at Christmas time. Yes, Hyde Park is one of them! If a few months ago people flocked to Hyde Park London to catch rare monsters from Pokemon games, now this month, people come to experience something different! Yes, the biggest park in London instantly transformed into a beautiful Winter Wonderland. I even asked myself many times, is this a dream that I’m awake inside? You have no idea how excited I was to be there! Oh my gosh, I’m finally here! Ha-ha…

Hyde Park is one of the greatest city parks in the world and every year, millions of Londoners and tourists visiting this park. From 18 November 2016 until 02 January 2017, Winter Wonderland returns to Hyde Park, London for the 10th year. Hoooraaay! Again (as you can see from my YouTube video), I was so excited to be here! Together with my husband, and his best friend, Tony Frienly, who has lived in London since 2002, we finally get there after we enjoyed a nice dinner in London’s Chinatown. I wish I knew earlier if this place closes at 10 pm, so we could move

faster and arrive early to Hyde Park. My friend told me that there’s a new Lego store recently opened in London, and since we saw the banners too, we decided to stop by to Lego store that just opened on November 17, 2016, in Leicester Square, London.

Not only the lights and all the Christmas tunes that were played but this huge Christmas market presented beautifully in the form of Bavarian style wooden chalets (similar to what Garden By The Bay has in Singapore during Christmas) with all the fun-packed rides for adults and kids to enjoy. There are plenty of food and drink, souvenirs, and lots of interesting rides at the park as well. From the Ice Rink, the Munich Looping (the world’s largest transportable roller coaster, which is a famous ride from the popular Oktoberfest in Munich), Zippos Christmas Circus, Nutcracker on Ice, Magical Ice Kingdom, Giant Wheel, to Santa Land, oh I wish I could experience everything in the park that night!!

The Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland opens from 10 am to 10 pm every day until 2nd January (except Christmas Day). I suggest you come early in the morning to avoid the crowds, but it was lovely to see the lights in the evening. Although it was just a short visit to Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland, ridiculous things happen in the Alpen Hotel attractions, and it became an unforgettable night for all of us! Ha-ha..

If you want to experience London’s largest festive celebration, you have to visit Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park and discover all the fun they have to offer. The simple way to go there is to use the public transport. I no longer remember which station is the nearest to reach Hyde Park, it was either Marble Arch or Hyde Park Corner station. However, there are many tubes and mainline stations in close vicinity including Bond Street, Green Park, Knightsbridge, Paddington, and Victoria. The entry fee to this family-friendly park is FREE, but you need to buy some tokens to be able to play and access all the attractions at Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland (ticket prices range from 5 to 8 tokens, where one token is equal to 1 Pounds). Overall, it was a wonderful place for couples and families to get into the festive spirit! Don’t forget to try the Mulled Wine, which is rich in spices and good to keep you warm during the autumn – winter season in London in November 2016. Thank you for reading, I hope you’re all inspired! Stay tuned for more stories of my trip to London! 🙂
