Oh, how time flies so fast! It’s already December, and in this holiday season, I felt I wanted to travel again to many places! Still from our trip to Bangkok in June 2016, I’d like to share some recommendation of good eating places that you should visit if you have a plan to travel to Thailand for a holiday. As you may know or have heard before, Tom Yum UFO is still a trending dish in Bangkok until now, and we’re lucky to finally get a chance to try it for dinner, yay! Located on the 4th floor of Siam Paragon Shopping Center, this restaurant is called Sansab Restaurant. Although the restaurant is located in the food court area, fortunately, they have good lighting, spacious enough, and has booth seats for big groups.
In addition to the popular Tom Yum UFO dish, which has become a trend in social media, Sansab Restaurant also offers different kinds of authentic Thai cuisine at an affordable price. One of them is the Deep Fried Spicy Minced Pork Salad, but, we did not order it because we only have a little time for dinner. Even the restaurant was very crowded when we arrived, and we had to queue for about an hour. Oh, gosh! Well, of course, we ordered their signature dish! Tom Yum UFO is available in three versions; the original version with all meat which is
the cheapest among the others costs THB470++. While the second package (seafood version) for THB570++, and the newly added menu, premium Seafood version that comes with big prawns, for THB799++. We were so excited and tempted to try this new version! Once the large iron pan that consisting of big prawns arrived at our table, we couldn’t stop drooling!
For me, Tom Yum UFO is more than just a hot pot or any steamboats. All versions of the Tom Yum UFO dish comes with additional ingredients on the side of the pan; mozzarella cheese, corn, quail eggs and seaweed soup. Wow! That’s how they tease me, as cheese lovers and egg lovers! They poured the aromatic tom yum soup in the middle of the pan, served with instant noodles, mushrooms, baby corns, and five jumbo prawns. To enjoy it, we could mix all the toppings together in the middle of the pot, including the four ingredients which served on the side. The melted mozzarella cheese gave a nice creamy flavor, sweet and cheese goodness to the soup! Oh my gosh, it was so delicious! The sour and spicy taste of the tom yum soup was really addicting and remarkable, including the jumbo prawns which are the main star of this dish. Oh, it was so good!
The portion was quite big, enough to share with two or three persons. If it’s too expensive, you can opt for the regular seafood version which consists of fish balls, prawns, cuttlefish, and crab meats. As for the pork version, consists of processed food, such as pork hotdog, sausages, and luncheon meat. You can freely choose the version you want depending on your budget. Besides the Tom Yum UFO, we also tried the Fried Chicken Wings. It was deep-fried until the skin so crisp, crunchy, lightly salty and tasty! Overall, we’re satisfied with our visit to Sansab Restaurant and would love to return again in the future! We highly recommend you to try this phenomenal Tom Yum UFO if you come to Bangkok, a must try!
