[SINGAPORE] Michelin Guide Restaurants: OSIA, and L’Atelier

Although Singapore remains as one of the most expensive cities in the world, tourists always visit and shop in Singapore, especially during the Great Singapore Sale (between May and July), Christmas season and Chinese New Year. It’s no doubt that Singapore has so much to offer, not only for couples, but also for business travelers, holidaymakers, and families with kids! There are dozens of attractions and amazing local food that we all can explore, and guess what? When I visited Singapore a few weeks ago, this December 2017, many local restaurants and stores offer fantastic deals, including some of the Michelin restaurants located at Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore.

As seen from our Instastory, there is plenty of food to drool over during a visit to the extensive Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), but among all, I’d like to highlight three restaurants. I’m sure you all know the prestigious red guidelines that listed the best of Singapore’s food offerings. And as stated in the 2nd edition of the 2017 Michelin Guide Singapore, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon (Resorts World Sentosa) received 2 Michelin stars for its excellent cooking over the past two years. We didn’t meet Chef Joël Robuchon himself that day, but there’s Chef Vianney Massot, a 26-year-old head chef who leads the culinary teams at Joël Robuchon Restaurant and L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, serving contemporary French cuisine in RWS.

Opened by the celebrity chef and restaurateur, Scott Webster, OSIA Steak and Seafood Grill takes pride in the one-star category of Michelin Guide Singapore this year. OSIA offers contemporary Australian cuisine to fulfill diners with their creative dishes and use only freshest ingredients produce from Australia and Asia. The open kitchen allows guests to see the cooking process and its semi fine-dining atmosphere makes it perfect for a nice lunch or romantic dinner.

Especially for this month, you can enjoy a two-course meal lunch from $35++ at OSIA, but we tried a three-course meal at $110++ for dinner. While waiting, they gave us the crispy bread with raw tuna on top (complimentary from the kitchen), then we started with appetizers; thinly sliced Salmon infused with earthy flavors and warm color of beetroot, served with smoked salmon mousse, keta roe, and finger lime dill emulsion, and thick Foie Gras served with Madagascar vanilla, pineapple textures, and coriander. I love Foie Gras, and this was one of the best Foie Gras I’ve ever eaten! It’s crispy on the outside and just melted in your mouth.

For the main course, we had Wagyu Beef Tenderloin well presented with burnt celeriac and puffed brown rice. The beef wagyu was cooked to perfection, done medium rare as requested, very juicy, and had a pleasant taste came from sea water foam and pulverized demi-glace. I can’t remember the name, but the red wine complemented the meat very well. Last but not least, do not miss the impressive dessert, Osia’s Chocolate Soup. It’s actually molten chocolate, but this one is specially made with Valrhona chocolate, served with a combination of black pepper vanilla ice cream and sesame crisp, very nice!

Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience at Resorts World Sentosa. The food at OSIA Steak and Seafood Grill was all delicious, and better than our expectations. If you’re feeling adventurous, don’t forget to stop by to Curate, a stunning restaurant space that accommodates and hosts chefs from Michelin -starred restaurants around the world at Resorts World Sentosa. Due to the hectic schedule, we only got to try one of their signature dishes, Souffle Egg Yolk with Beluga Caviar. This souffle is already beautiful on its own, but it became more elegant and excellent with Beluga Caviar on top. A must try!
