[NEW] Sisterfields Jakarta Opening Celebration at PIK Avenue

Initially, I was excited to hear that Sisterfields Jakarta will soon open at PIK Avenue, and I got a special invitation from them. Though I’m still sick and not feeling well, we decided to come and join the Opening Celebration since 4.30pm. Sisterfields is a restaurant brand that is existing in Bali since 4 years ago featuring mostly classic Aussie breakfasts such as smashed avocado, and more inventive dishes such as Salmon Benedict, Soft Shell Crab, etc. Sounds interesting.

The event itself started very late at 5.15pm, beginning with an opening speech from Adam McAsey, Founder of Sisterfields Bali, and Imron of Normi Group. After the opening, and plating by Chef Kevin, I thought they would serve all the sampling food for guests to try after the photoshoot, but guess what? For the food, the waiter only served 3 types of food in small sizes; Acai Berry Smoothie served in small cups for all guests, some Polenta fries, and Mini Burgers for those who waited passionately since 4 pm.

Once the food is finished, they didn’t serve it again. I didn’t get the Mini Burger, so I waited for 30 minutes where I assume, in this opening ceremony, food should always be ready and available non-stop for all guests. Apparently, they hold some food in their kitchen so that other guests who will come to the next session (7:30 pm) can also try the food. Honestly, I’m not getting a good impression of this visit, and we’re sorry that we can’t share anything else because after we stayed for 3 hours in this event, we only tried two juices, one cocktail, and 1 cup of Acai Berry. Some food bloggers left the place already and due to my condition (just cured from fever and still experiencing bad cough and flu), it’s not possible for us to wait until other guests from session 2 to come so we can try the food, so we decided just to go home and have dinner with my favorite Samgyetang at Dubujib Restaurant. I think there’s a miscommunication for the invite, but we’ll be back again for sure. Here’s a sneak peek if you’re curious about the opening celebration of Sisterfields Jakarta today, Friday, March 09, 2018. Thank you for reading!
