[KOREA] Oryukdo Skywalk Busan, Walking in The Sky (오륙도 스카이워크)

Do you know what it’s like to walk in the sky? We know that! It feels amazing to be at the top of Oryukdo Skywalk in Busan, Korea. And yes, still from our last trip to Korea in October 2017, we want to share one of the places that you should visit when you travel to Korea. Busan is South Korea’s second largest city known for its unique location by the sea and mountains. And there’s one of the city’s most beautiful coastal trails, Igidae, ends at the Oryukdo Skywalk, a glass bridge hanging over the coastal cliffs of the peninsula.

Oryukdo Skywalk first opened in October 2013 with the motto “Walking in the Sky” (오륙도 스카이워크), and since then, this place has become one of Busan’s popular tourist attractions. The entry fee is FREE, and since the walkway is made of transparent glass, visitors are required to wear cloth booties overshoes to protect the glass.

Unfortunately, the glass bottom is not that clear. But still, as we cross Oryukdo Skywalk, it felt like we’re floating on air, a bit scary at first, but the feeling of joy and calm join together when we saw the beauty of the sea from the top of the cliff.

To reach this place, you can go there by Bus or take a taxi from Kyungsung University Station. The skywalk is located on a cliff at 40 meters high, overlooks the Oryukdo island, which consists of 2 brotherly rocks. But since the walking path only 15m long, it only takes 5-10 minutes to complete the walk, including taking pictures on the skywalk. Guess what? We spent 2 hours in this place to get clear photos with the transparent glass of course.

From above, we can get a good view of Oryukdo Island. Be prepared because they can close this place when strong winds occur in bad weather. Overall, it’s a unique and fun experience for us, and worth to visit when in Busan.
