[NEW] Coffee and Croissants at Joe & Dough Puri Indah Mall

For those who love freshly baked bread, pastries and treats, Joe & Dough is one of the right places to go in West Jakarta neighborhoods. Who agrees that good coffee and pastry are meant to be together? There are many good coffee shops in Jakarta, and I’m happy to share with you Joe & Dough, another new coffee shop brought from Singapore to Plaza Indonesia (the 1st international outpost outside of Singapore) and recently they opened their 2nd outlet at Puri Indah Mall. Joe & Dough was founded by Damien Koh and Dawn Wee in March 2009 with a simple dream to make good specialty coffee and artisanal bakes accessible to everyone. No wonder everything appears in a fun atmosphere, colorful murals and a relaxed vibe with the accompanying music.

And the good news is, the 2nd outlet at Puri Indah Mall is officially opened today, on Tuesday, 18 December 2018. For the opening promotion, they will give you FREE Croissants for the 1st 50 customers for 3 days (from 18-20 December 2018). Wohooo, I’m sure you don’t wanna miss this! So, the standout offer here is the Traditional Carrot Cake (IDR 60K per slice / IDR 600K for whole cake), which is super yummy without being too sweet, moist and delicious with generous nuts in it. It’s spiced to perfection and topped with cream cheese frosting; definitely will satisfy anyone’s sweet tooth! And at the moment, this Traditional Carrot Cake is only available at Joe & Dough Puri Indah Mall’s outlet.

Where are all of my fellow pastry lovers? Yes, you gotta try some of their pastries too. One of my highlights today was the Double Baked Almond Croissants (IDR 35K). As you can see, the sliced almonds adorn the tops of flaky golden croissants; crisp, sweet and addicting; simply perfect to accompany your favorite beverage whether it’s coffee or hot tea. You will probably never go back to regular croissants again after you tried this, especially if you’re an almond fan like me too, ha-ha… Oh, the Cinnamon Sultana Danish (IDR 28K) was our favorite too! This classic version of homemade danish was fragrant, but a little chewy from the amount of caramelized cinnamon-sugar on top. Each bite tasted good, and we enjoyed it with a cup of our favorite J&D Cookie Cup at Joe & Dough Jakarta.

In addition to tea, coffee and some pastries, Joe & Dough also serves hearty dishes with Pan-Asian twists ranging from appetizers, mains, salads, and more. Try the Emping Nachos (IDR 55K) if you want a unique appetizer for your snack time. Generous melted cheese and roasted corn complement the crispy emping, served with tartar sauce and fresh salsa. If you like salads, go for Watermelon Avocado & Feta Salad (IDR 110K). It’s so fresh and fruity with a combination of cubes watermelon, avocado, toasted hazelnuts, feta cheese and arugula with balsamic reduction and ginger lime dressing, we loved it! For a simple brunch, try Smoked Salmon Hash (IDR 90K) from the all-day brunch menu comes with 63-degree Egg, it was savory and satisfying!

We enjoyed our afternoon time at Joe & Dough Puri Indah Mall. There’s a delightful range of delicious, freshly made breads and pastries available here with a taste so fresh that you will keep coming back for more. It’s a great place to hang out for a while or to enjoy lunch or dinner with your family and friends. Thank you for reading!
