Vin+ Group has opened a new restaurant, SAKE+, which located in the Senopati area (South Jakarta), the latest addition to the culinary scene in Jakarta since the end of July 2014. The restaurant was well-received by many people and has recently become one of the most happening places, especially among fans of Japanese cuisine. Simple wood materials, minimalist decor and minimalist lighting create a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. On the first floor, we find the Sake Bar and some sofas to chill out with friends or relatives. There are plenty of tables and chairs available on the second floor where most of the area is for the smoking area.

Here, we can easily find a variety of flavors and brands of Japanese Sake and Sochu from the storage displays. There are more than 100 varieties of Japanese Sake and Sochu available at SAKE+ where people can purchase, to take home or drink it there while dine in the restaurant. Interesting!

Kyuri+, IDR 120K - Non Halal

Besides Japanese Sake and Sochu, you can also find a lot of interesting cocktails. I chose Kyuri+ to accompany my lunch; a cocktail mix of dry sake, gin, cassis syrup, strawberry and lime juice, served with two cucumber cups. Mild aroma and sweet taste of this drink are so refreshing, friendly enough for anyone who does not usually drink Japanese sake. A must try!

Kaisen Salad, IDR 85K

A big plate of Japanese Seafood Salad that tastes refreshing. It consists of seafood, fresh fish, tobiko caviar and assorted vegetables, dressed in sesame shoyu sauce.

Chawan Mushi, IDR 60K

A classic Japanese Chawan Mushi (savory steamed egg custard) where SAKE+ has a different presentation, unlike other restaurants. This chawan mushi topped with Ikura (salmon roe), shrimp and edamame. The first bite and I instantly fell in love with it. It feels so smooth, delicate and delicious! If you’re looking for a different kind of comfort in a cup, try this!!

"Chawan"Chawan

I also tried two of their most favorite Robatayaki menus; Karubi Amiyaki and Gyutan Amiyaki. Both were absolutely delicious! The grilled ox tongue (Gyutan Amiyaki) feels soft, does not feel like eating the ox tongue. The grilled short ribs (Karubi Amiyaki) are so tender and addictive. A must try!

Karubi Amiyaki, IDR 280K

Hamachi Kama Age, IDR 110K

Hamachi Kama (fried yellowtail head fish) is rarely found in restaurants, but if you’re in a Japanese restaurant and you see it on the menu, you should order it! Hamachi Kama tastes best simply grilled, with a sprinkling of salt and citrus. This one tastes delicious, but I prefer if given with teriyaki sauce so it will be more flavorful and tasty.

Gindara Set Teriyaki, IDR 160K

I always love Gindara. The tender, smooth, and juicy cod fish is grilled with a sweet and tangy flavor teriyaki sauce. The outer layer has a charcoal brown color with a delightful aroma. This set is served with rice, misoshiru, Chawan Mushi, Kobachi, Pickles and fresh fruit. You definitely can’t get enough of it. A must try!

Sashimi Set, IDR 150K

If you love sashimi, don’t miss out this Sashimi Set at SAKE+. Slices of fresh raw fish are served with rice, misoshiru, Chawan Mushi, mini salad, kobachi and fresh fruit.

"Sashimi

Overall, I really enjoyed all these Japanese food, especially the Chawan Mushi, Karubi Amiyaki, Kaisen Salad, and Gindara Set. If you’re a fan of Japanese Cuisine, I would personally recommend you to visit this restaurant. Don’t forget to try some of their cocktails, including their best-seller, Kyuri+.
