Both of us finally travelled around Kyoto by bike and our first destination was this stunning Fushimi Inari-Taisha Shrine. It’s the place that you should go while in Kyoto. The thousands of gates are fascinating! We explored the mountain or hiking trails and the shrine buildings where everything is so attractive. Even though there were a lot of visitors at the temple, the further we go it’s getting quieter. We took a lot of pictures, especially when we were inside the “tunnel” of red gates along the way. It was truly beautiful, unlike anything else we’ve ever seen.

On the back side of each gate, we can find the donator’s name and the date of the donation, either by individuals or companies. Interesting!

Nearby the entrance gate, there are some shops sell various kinds of sweets, such as tsujiura senbei, cookies, ice cream, etc. Not to forget, there are lots of cute and interesting souvenirs that reflects the Fushimi Inari-Taisha itself, for example, the Fox mini doll. Because we went on summer and it was so hot that day, so we grabbed the soft Matcha Ice Cream cost ¥360. We both loved it so much! You should try it, too!
