Chef Lamberto Valdez Lara<\/strong>, Keraton at The Plaza’s Director of Culinary, in collaboration with Patron<\/strong>, the most ultra-premium Tequila<\/strong> brand in the world, has created a tantalizing menu, pairing tequila shots and cocktails with some of his most popular tacos. Me and my husband were invited by Keraton at The Plaza<\/strong> to taste some of these gourmet tacos last week, and I’d like to share it with you right now. Patron<\/strong> brand tequila is offered in nine different <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>varities<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>, and I saw there are some of them available in Bengawan<\/strong>, such as the Patron XO Cafe<\/strong>, Patron Reposado<\/strong>, and Patron Anejo<\/strong>.

Tortilla Chips<\/strong> \r\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/pre>\n

Crispy corn tortilla chips as a welcome snack at Bengawan<\/strong> during the Mexican promo. Best eaten with three kinds of dipping sauce; Red salsa, Sour cream and Green salsa. You can also enjoy the Tortilla Chips with the Guacamole.<\/p>\n

Guacamole in Bengawan<\/strong> is totally different from the other restaurants I’ve ever tasted. Here they made the guacamole using good, riped<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> imported avocados from Mexico. It tastes fresh, and it still has some big chunks of avocados inside it. Best eaten with the Tortilla Chips.<\/p>\n

De<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> Pescado Taco (Fish Taco<\/strong>) \r\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/pre>\n

This one is a fried snapper in a tequila butter, chipotle mayo, and green cabbage, served on a flour tortilla. The fish is quite crisp, and the combination of the sauce is overwhelms the fish. We both loved it!<\/p>\n

De<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> Res Taco (Beef Taco)<\/strong> \r\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/pre>\n

This one is Carne Asada served with roasted guajillo<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> salsa. Slices of thin beef were marinated and grilled, served on a flour tortilla. Simply delicious!<\/p>\n

De<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> Camaron Taco (Shrimp Taco)<\/strong>\r\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/pre>\n

This one is Capeados Taco, a buttered shrimp with fresh Pico de Gallo (fresh uncooked salad made from chopped tomato, onion, etc.). To add more flavor, I add some guacamole to it.<\/p>\n

De<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> Pollo Taco (Chicken Taco)<\/strong> \r\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/pre>\n

And the last one was this Chicken Tinga with chipotle, served with a big slice of avocado on top of it. The chicken meat is tender and tasty, but I also add some salsa sauce, so it becomes more flavorful. But we didn’t like the corn tortilla since it’s thicker and has a coarse texture than the flour tortilla.<\/p>\n

Cinnamon Sugar Churros<\/strong> \r\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/pre>\n

These Churros are so good, served with 3 kinds of dipping sauce; Cajeta (goats milk) caramel, White chocolate sauce, and Chunky mango compote. Among 3 of them, my favorite one is the Goat Milk Caramel dipping sauce. The churros<\/span><\/span><\/span> are so crunchy, delicious, warm and cinnamon sugary!<\/p>\n

Strawberry and Lychee Margarita + Patron Reposado Tequila<\/strong><\/pre>\n

We also enjoyed our random conversations among other invitees over a couple of fruity margaritas. Strawberry and Lychee infused Tequila<\/strong> turns out to be a refreshing cocktail for those who cannot drink tequila in one shot. If you’re into doing shots, you can try the Patron Reposado Tequila<\/strong>, which is aged up to six months. It is smooth and quite strong alcohol.<\/p>\n
