Chef Back<\/strong> as one of the celebrity Chef<\/strong> in the world, started to spread his culinary wings by the opening of Akira Back Jakarta<\/strong>. He brings his sense of adventure and creativity into every dish for culinary lovers in Jakarta, following the success of Kumi Japanese Restaurant and Bar at Mandalay Bay<\/strong> and Akira Back New Delhi at JW Marriott Aerocity<\/strong>. The meal started with a delicious Akira Back<\/strong> Strawberry Martini. A beautiful mix of sake-based with Strawberry Liqueur, house-maid Strawberry Nectar, and Strawberry Syrup. Sweet flavor of the strawberry goes well with the light alcohol taste from the Sake. Love it!!<\/p>\n

These mini tacos come in five bite-size pieces, where the Wagyu Galbi minced beef and spicy tomato ponzu sauce blend perfectly inside the crisp tacos. These tacos taste much better than the Mexican tacos I’ve ever tried in some hotels in Jakarta lately. A must try!<\/p>\n

Tuna Pizza, IDR 195K<\/strong><\/pre>\n

From the Cold Shared menu, we tried Tuna Pizza, a very famous food in all over his restaurant. The thin and crispy pizza dough covered with thin slices of tuna sashimi and red onions. Mayo and ponzu<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> mayonnaise in them creates a crisp and savory taste sensation. Truffle oil, micro-shiso leaf, and sprinkles of crystal salt and pepper on top of it enhances the delicious flavor to each bite of fresh tuna. Although this menu is meant for sharing, I was tempted to finish it by myself. Ha-ha.. It’s incredibly delicious and memorable dish! A must try!<\/p>\n

Hirame Carpaccio, IDR 170K<\/strong><\/pre>\n

Still from the Cold Shared menu, you shouldn’t miss Hirame Carpaccio. Hirame<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> is one of the lightest and most delicate tasting fish which is famous in Japan. Thinly-sliced hirame<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> fish, topped with crispy shallots, savory-tangy Nanbazu sauce and slices of Jalapeno for a spicy hint. This perfectly sliced white fish is incredibly fresh, very delicate in taste, clean aftertaste and firm texture. A must try!<\/p>\n

\"Hirame<\/a> \"Hirame<\/a><\/p>\n

Yellowtail<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> Jalapeno, IDR 195K<\/strong><\/pre>\n

Besides Hirami, Akira Back<\/strong> also famous with its Yellowtail Jalapeno. Thinly sliced Yellowtail fish served with Jalapeno, Cilantro and Yuja soy. The presentation is quite similar to Hirame Carpaccio, and both of them are mouthwateringly delicious!! A must try!!<\/p>\n

Miso Black Cod, IDR 195K<\/strong><\/pre>\n

Miso Black Cod served with Shishito (the Japanese green pepper) and topped with beet chili foam. The black cod has an incredibly soft texture and wonderful flavor. I love how the sweet and savoury<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> flavor of the miso, blend in so well with the delicate flavors of the fish and not overpowering it. The crisp fish skin adds another layer of delicious flavor. Oh my gosh, Miso Black Cod is the best fish dishes I’ve ever had so far! A must try!!<\/p>\n

48 Hours Wagyu Short Rib, IDR 450K<\/strong><\/pre>\n

For<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> the main menu, of course, Akira Back<\/strong> 48 Hours Wagyu Short Rib is a champion dish for us. Premium Wagyu beef chunks are slow-cooked for 48 hours, resulting in a wonderfully tender, juicy, and still retaining a pink medium-rare inside. It is served with quail egg and baby vegetables-as a companion. To make it more filling, we also ordered the Truffled Potato Puree which tasted creamy and so delicious! A must try!!<\/p>\n

AB Shortcake, IDR 65K<\/strong><\/pre>\n

We also tried one of their dessert selection. If you’re looking for a light taste of dessert, then you should try Akira Back<\/strong> Shortcake like what I did. Fluffy Strawberry shortcake with vanilla Chantilly, sliced mangos and other fresh fruits, served with homemade orange lychee sorbet. It is a perfect closing after all the heavy meals that day. So yummy!<\/p>\n

Although the food here is pricey, but it is worth every penny. Great food, good music, friendly staff, and great atmosphere, I believe this is one place where everyone wants to be for a happy tummy. We had a very tasty and wonderful lunch experience at Akira Back Jakarta<\/strong>, unlike what we had in many Japanese restaurants in Jakarta. The Tuna Pizza<\/strong> is to die for, and the Miso Black Cod<\/strong> is fabulous as well as the 48 Hours Wagyu Short Rib<\/strong>.
