Now I will share with you; our wonderful experiences at the DaLa Spa was surprisingly the best!! It was truly the Best Luxury Spa experience I’ve ever had so far, compared to many other local spas in Jakarta, and one Spa place in Sukabumi that I’ve tried a few years ago with my friends. After walking pass a beautiful swimming pool, we entered the lounge area at the DaLa Spa.

Everything is very beautiful, clean, and personal from the moment we entered this place. Spacious and beautiful lobby lounge area at the spa with wooden classic interior is truly amazing. Comfortable armchairs as well as cushioned comfortable sofas that are available at the open-air lobby lounge ready to pamper everyone with the surrounding natural landscape.

DaLa Spa offers a meticulously crafted menu inspired by old Indonesian healing and beauty rituals. Besides the spa treatments, they also provide some interactive activities called Spa Class. In the Spa Class, we can learn to make a Body Scrub, Making of Jamu (how to make a traditional health drink) and making our own Facial Mask. The spa lesson took place in the lobby lounge area, and I joined the Spa Class of DIY (Do It Yourself) Body Scrub using natural ingredients such as coconut and palm sugar. It was fun!

There’s a lovely little gift shop full of natural products and other traditional stuffs located near the reception desk. DaLa Spa also nominated for 2014 AsiaSpa Awards for Best Treatment of the Year – Malabar Tea Ceremony, collaborates with Themae Paris. I have tried a few different places for myself, and I must say that the way DaLa Spa treated us was truly fantastic! Before enjoying high tea session in the lobby lounge area, they led us to the treatment rooms downstairs.

There are six rooms, and we both decided to use the “Tuberose” Room. All rooms are gorgeous!! Spacious rooms, complete with beautiful antique furniture, traditional Balinese sarong, bath-tub and shower. Back to the lobby lounge area, the staff explained to us the scope of the treatment. Then they asked us to fill out a personal preference checklist where we can decide the temperature of the treatment room, the music that we want to listen to, what areas of the body massage should focus on, etc. Everything is so detailed!

We were then introduced to six different kinds of massage oils. We only experienced the one called Kenanga Jasmine Oil that smells nice, calming and so relaxing.

Manis Klepon Treatment, IDR 845K++ (single) / IDR 1.595K++ (couple)

Now, this is the best part!! Manis Klepon is one of the Signature Treatments that is inspired by the colorful ingredients of a traditional Balinese rice flour cake (Klepon). My therapist, Yanti, started with a foot bath using mixed fresh ingredients, which I’ve never found or experienced elsewhere. I was amazed with this beginning process. It was then followed by an exfoliating coconut and palm sugar scrub to remove dead skin cells. Afterward, she applied a fragrant body mask made from Pandanus and suji leaves which started out warm, then gradually gave off a cooling sensation. After 15 minutes, she then showed me a basket of flowers and explained each one of them. Then gradually dropping them into the bathtub filled with warm water. I soaked in a warm bath infused with seven Balinese flowers to wash away the remains of the mask. It was very relaxing!! I wish I could have more than 15 minutes to stay in the bathtub. Hahaha.. I loved the heavenly smells and all the natural ingredients!! Last but not least, a classic Balinese massage for 1 hour using long strokes and different pressure for deep relaxation. Non-greasy massage oil and well-trained therapist surely made my day. A refreshing Chamomile facial mist ended our treatment session. Back in the lobby lounge area, they served us with Hot Ginger Tea and Manis Klepon snacks on the side (Balinese traditional snack stuffed with grated coconut and palm sugar).
