Not long ago I visited Sunny Side Up House of Omurice at Summarecon Mal Serpong, Tangerang. There I realized that Sunny Side Up now comes with a new concept that looks fresher both in terms of logos, decorations, as well as new menus provided. In the third year, the restaurant that uses eggs as the main ingredient in most of their menus has changed the logo become an omelette picture that is surrounded by blue color. The branch of Sunny Side Up, which located in SMS Summarecon Mall Serpong, is made look like a ranch house. The décor is classic and dominated with wooden tables and chairs with bright lights create a comfortable atmosphere.

Sunny Side Up House of Omurice features a spacious dining room and divided into two areas; there is an indoor side (non-smoking) and outdoor side (smoking area). On the wall, there is also an interesting picture where everyone can see the process of how eggs produced by a farm. It’s nice and can educate visitors as well.

Now Sunny Side Up serves Omurice as the main focus of the menu, but the favorites menu is still available, such as Hotplate and Donburi, Omelette Breakfast Set, Egg Benedict, various pastas, and dessert. As for drinks, they also have some favorite beverages, such as various White Yolk Juices, Lychee Iced Tea, Green Tea Latte, and many others.

This juice is unique because it is made of 6 pieces of white egg, mixed with a variety of fresh ingredients such as vegetables and fruits. We’ve tried the White Yolk Healthy, which consists of vegetables, pineapple, and lemon. This juice is popular among fitness people because as we all know, the white egg is one of the sources of high-quality protein to help the building process of muscle. My husband liked the green juice so much while I loved the chocolate version that tasted sweeter similar like drinking a chocolate drink. You should give it a try! It’s healthy and yummy!

Here is another creative form of eggs as the main ingredient, look! Half-baked eggs beautifully presented and wrapped with beef bacon. It’s one of the favorite appetizers in Sunny Side Up, and I loved them when the yolks still a little soft. So yummy!

Omurice is originated from Japan and derived from the word Omelette and Rice. It is spiced rice dish wrapped in a fluffy blanket of eggs (omelette) and served with a sauce and a special companion. From 9 Omurice choices that available at Sunny Side Up, I tried one of their favorites, Creamy Salmon Omurice. I chose the half-cooked egg for the omelette so that the egg surface still appears wet when served. The butter rice inside the omelette was fragrant and delicious, and the chunks of salmon and savory cream sauce complement it very well. Loved it!

As usual, we save some space for dessert! Twist Mochi Azuki is a refreshing new flavor with a Japanese twist made by Sunny Side Up. A simple combination of Matcha soft ice cream and chocolate ice cream served with Azuki red beans and some Mochi. It wasn’t too sweet and very nice eaten after a heavy meal, but, unfortunately, the ice cream melts quickly, so I had to finish it immediately.
