The options for French food<\/strong> in Jakarta are still limited compared to other cuisines, but I’m sure most of you know about Le Quartier<\/span> Restaurant <\/strong>located in Gunawarman<\/strong>, Senopati<\/strong>, South Jakarta<\/strong>. It’s one of the French food<\/strong> restaurants that received a reward as the Best European Restaurant by NOW! Jakarta 2014<\/strong><\/em>. We heard so much about this restaurant and had passed this place a lot, until finally we decided to visit Le Quartier<\/strong> to try some light meals. We instantly fell in love with the ambiance. The atmosphere is just right with warm and inviting, modern and cozy, with large spaces available for the non-smoking area. Yay<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>! \u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n <\/a> <\/a><\/p>\n I never like snails until I tried Escargots (cooked land snails), one of the authentic and classic French<\/strong> dishes that I had tried in a French<\/strong> restaurant in Jakarta a few years ago. So when I saw this on Le Quartier<\/strong>‘s menu, I quickly ordered this dish. I have tried escargot<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> a number of times and this one was absolutely one of the best. The clean and tender texture of escargot<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> was very delicious, served in a small, shallow dish, nestled in a mixture of garlic sauce.<\/p>\n <\/a> <\/a><\/p>\n Soupe<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> A L’ognion Gratinee simply means French<\/strong> Onion Soup. It was a classic French<\/strong> soup that has a good depth of flavor, even though, it only consists of caramelized onions, topped with toasted bread, and covered with cheese.
