An old building in Blok<\/span><\/span><\/span> M Square<\/strong> shopping complex, Melawai<\/strong>, instantly transformed into a coffee shop that has been popular recently, named Filosofi Kopi<\/strong>. Filosofi Kopi (Coffee Philosophy)<\/strong> is an Indonesian’s first user-generated movie, adapted from a short story works by Dewi “Dee” Lestari (a singer and writer). Filosofi Kopi<\/strong> itself is not just a film, but also talks about coffee, books, and games. Even the main character of this film, Chicco Jerikho<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>, and Rio Dewanto<\/strong>, who are also the owner of this cafe, use this cafe as a shooting location. No wonder the coffee shop gets busier by coffee lovers and their fans.<\/p>\n

This film was also carrying a fresh message to introduce the good quality of Indonesian coffee. That is why, Filosofi Kopi<\/strong> offers a variety of Indonesian coffee for coffee lovers, though the coffee drink is still limited at the moment.<\/p>\n

The vintage chic decor caught my eyes the moment I stepped into the coffee shop. And you know what? There are so many nice and interesting spots in this coffee shop to take a selfie picture, ha-ha.. \ud83d\ude00 However, the large window glass made the air inside the coffee shop feels a bit hot and less cold inside, especially when the sun was shining brightly like that day. Unfortunately, their kitchen wasn’t ready that afternoon, and I couldn’t order any snacks (waffle, French fries, and fried cassava), so I decided just to order a Latte<\/strong> along with a glass of Ice Chocolate<\/strong> based on their recommendation.<\/p>\n

Overall from this visit, we enjoyed both classic drinks and the calm atmosphere in the coffee shop that afternoon. The barista<\/span><\/span><\/span> was friendly and helpful as well, but, unfortunately, we didn’t have a chance to meet the actors of the Filosofi Kopi<\/strong> movie that day. If you’re lucky, Rio Dewanto<\/strong> will probably be the one who serves the coffee for you.
