It was like a dream to be able to attend the official draw ceremony for the BNP Paribas WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) Finals Singapore presented by SC Global on Friday night, October 23, 2015 which held at the Marina Bay Sands Skating Rink. Yes, I felt so happy to be there together with Anisa Rahma Adi, the famous and young Indonesian celebrity that I’ve mentioned in previous articles, and together with other bloggers from Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines as well.

This event was open to the public, but only those who have the VIP Invitation, who can sit in the middle area. When I got there, I saw there was a massive crowd at the location that had waited for more than an hour to catch a glimpse of these stars. Without their rackets and athletic wear for dresses, these women looked stunning and amazed their fans. Fans were also given the opportunity to ask the players questions. Right after we witnessed the official draw ceremony, we headed to Adrift by Chef David Myers, the latest celebrity chef for dinner. David Myers, a 2003 Food & Wine Best New Chef – the chef whose name is behind Comme Ca, Pizzeria Ortica, and Hinoki & the Bird, opened its new restaurant on February 2015 called Adrift. Located in Marina Bay Sands luxury hotel in Singapore, Adrift is like a one-stop culinary destination; restaurant, lounge and bar in Tower 2 MBS that offers modern, and lovely ambiance, even though it was quite dark inside.

"Adrift "Cozy "Before

Adrift offers Californian dishes with Asian influences, such as Prawn Cocktail with spicy tomato-horseradish sauce ($23 SGD), Baby Kale Salad with Hon Shimeji Mushrooms, Hazelnut, and Truffle Pecorino ($22 SGD), and thin sliced of Karaage Chicken served with Miso-mustard dip ($17 SGD). For the main course, I tried the Iberico Pork Chop ($30 SGD), Wagyu Cheeseburger ($25 SGD), Duck Breast ($26 SGD) and Spicy Sesame Beef Soup ($22 SGD). The duck was cooked pink that is great for me though the skin was not crispy as I thought. The Wagyu Cheeseburger came in a big portion, with fat and juicy patty heavily coated with melted cheese. The pork chops were tender, and I loved the spicy sesame beef soup. It was very flavorful, and not too spicy.

During the WTA Finals 2015 in Singapore, Adrift introduces a special drink called Golden Ace Cocktail. That night, the bartender showed his skill in making this lovely drink in front of us. A refreshing mix of Jack Daniel’s, Calamansi Juice, homemade rosemary syrup, Schweppes tonic and soda for only $23 SGD++. Guests can enjoy 50% off the cocktail by presenting their WTA Finals ticket at Adrift, available until 8 November 2015. Don’t miss it guys! Overall, we enjoyed all the food above. All the food beautifully presented, impecable service and intimate ambiance. Adrift is definitely a stylish joint, nice for groups or a casual date if you’re in Singapore.
