"Fried

Fried Chicken in Pandan Leaf, IDR 28K

I was so confused when looking for a place to eat while we’re in Kelapa Gading (North Jakarta) area, but then we heard about Thai Chada from my little brother. It’s a newly opened Thai Restaurant located in Kelapa Gading, and if you’re familiar with this area, you will easily find it in the same row with Happy Puppy and Wiro Sableng Seafood restaurant in Kelapa Gading. Because I love Thai food, I decided to take them out for dinner at this restaurant a few weeks ago. The place was packed that night, and luckily there were two tables left for the 6 of us.

"Pineapple

Pineapple Fried Rice, IDR 42K

Honestly, I did not have plans to make this blog while visiting the restaurant. Therefore, when you read this article, you will not find any ambiance or the exterior look of the restaurant, hahaha.. However, all of the food here was quite good, and we liked it, that’s why I wanted to share a quick review of this restaurant. Thai Chada restaurant, which has been open for almost two months now, offers a variety of traditional Thai food, such as Pad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice, Pandan Chicken, Tom Yum Goong, etc.

"Shrimp

Shrimp Tom Yum, IDR 68K

We ordered Fried Chicken in Pandan Leaf, Pineapple Fried Rice, Shrimp Tom Yum, Steamed Fish with Lemon, Minced Beef with Vegetables, and Thai Style Roasted Chicken. The minced beef with string beans was just okay for me, nothing special about it. But our personal favorite was the Shrimp Tom Yum Goong and what I loved most about this soup was the flavors of lemongrass, the combination of sour and spicy, and all the spices combined in the milky broth. It tasted so delicious but a bit expensive, because the soup consisted only three pieces of shrimp, and nothing else for IDR 68K (before taxes and service). But, you can choose the Seafood Tom Yum, which is also available there.

"Steamed

Steamed Fish with Lemon, IDR 65K (parrot fish) / IDR 80K (snapper)

Pineapple fried rice is known as a signature dish of Thailand, and we liked the delicious sweet and savory combination of this Thai-style fried rice. They also put cashew nuts, fresh pineapple, and some raisins in the fried rice, nice! The Thai-style Roasted Chicken which was already marinated has a fragrant aroma, juicy, and tender, but it would be better if the chicken came in a nice golden color and with more intense Thai flavors in it.

"Minced

Minced Beef with String Beans, IDR 45K

"Thai

Thai Style Roasted Chicken, IDR 48K

Last but not least, the Steamed Fish with Lemon became another favorite for all of us! There are two options for the fish, either snapper or parrot fish. We opted-in for parrot fish and enjoyed the whole fish with a tangy lime sauce, slightly spicy, yet so delicious, fragrant, and refreshing! It was definitely delish! Overall, we enjoyed everything, except for the slow service that we experienced while we were there. But of course, we understand because it seemed they are short of manpower, and the restaurant was very crowded at that time! I hope they can maintain the quality of the food and provide better service in the future, all the best Thai Chada!
