Street food<\/strong>\u00a0is something we can’t live without, and we are always looking for this kind of food whenever we travel. Not only when we travel abroad, but in Jakarta itself, and other parts of Indonesia, there are a wide variety of things to eat, especially fast and cheap street food which is popular among the locals. About two weeks ago, I got a chance to be part of\u00a0Luke Nguyen’s Jakarta Street Food Culinary Trip<\/strong>.\u00a0Luke Nguyen<\/strong>\u00a0is a Vietnamese-Australian Chef, and restaurateur, who is also known as the author of various worldwide bestselling and award-winning cookbooks.<\/p>\n

There are some of my favorite street foods destination, such as\u00a0Opor Sunggingan in Kudus<\/a><\/span><\/strong>,\u00a0Serabi Notosuman<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0Bebek Pak Ndut in Solo<\/strong><\/a><\/span>,\u00a0Sate Sapi Suruh in Salatiga<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, and many more available on my blog, which can be a good reference for those of you who like to eat street food when traveling as we do.<\/p>\n

So, the first destination of\u00a0Luke Nguyen’s Culinary Trip<\/strong>\u00a0is\u00a0Ketoprak Ciragil<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Gado-Gado Ciragil<\/strong>\u00a0located at\u00a0Jalan Ciragil II, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta<\/strong>. Ketoprak is my all time favorite food, and\u00a0Ketoprak Ciragil<\/strong>\u00a0is one of the legendary food stalls that existed since 1965! The combination of sweet soy sauce with the goodness of delicious peanut sauce made me enjoy this dish so much! In my opinion, the nutty flavor tasted stronger than the other Ketoprak I’ve ever tasted. You can have it with extra eggs as well. While the\u00a0Gado-Gado Ciragil<\/strong>\u00a0tasted more delicious where it’s also known as one of the best street carts that serve a mix of Indonesian salad, served with a thick peanut sauce, savory and spicy as I expected.<\/p>\n
