Guide to 8 Best Halal Restaurants in Hong Kong for Muslim Travelers

1. Ma’s Restaurant at Cheung Sha Wan Road, Sham Shui Po

Ma’s Restaurant has been around for many years and is popular as a Halal restaurant that provides the best Chinese culinary experience. We tried almost everything on the menu, but of course, restaurant’s specialties like the Veal Goulash, and Lamb Rack both tasted awesome! I found lots of locals eating there at Ma’s Restaurant, and best of all, everything was cooked fresh.

If you come to Ma’s Restaurant during lunch between 11:30 am and 5:30 pm, you can order a Lunch Set for two which is slightly cheaper than the a la carte menu. Make sure to order their signature: Veal Goulash (40 HKD for two pieces = IDR 70K), stuffed with rich and meaty filling inside a crisp and flaky pastry shell, and the Lamb Rack (44 HKD per piece = IDR 75K/piece) was fried to perfection, so crunchy and addictive! Other favorites would be the tasty Curry Mutton (61 HKD = IDR 105K, best eaten with Prata Bread), Deep Fried Prawn (154 HKD = IDR 264K) in balls shape and covered with crispy potatoes and Wasabi Sauce, Dry Sauteed String Beans with Chili Minced Beef (76 HKD = IDR 130K), Sour & Chili Soup (47 HKD = IDR 80K for small size), and Seafood Fried Rice (72 HKD = IDR 123K). All the food was tasty and beyond our expectations. The portion was quite big as well! Ma’s Restaurant is a must visit when you’re in Hong Kong, even if you’re not a Muslim! ""
