If you travel to Bangkok (Thailand), do not miss to try the famous Chicken Rice eateries; Kuang Heng Chicken Rice and Go-Ang Pratunam Chicken Rice, both located just opposite the Palladium World Shopping Mall. To reach this restaurant, you have to cross the wide road, and see for the green signage as shown in the picture below. We came here because that night when we tried Go-Ang Pratunam Chicken Rice (the pink shop), some of my followers sent me a direct message through Instagram and told me to try the Green Shop (Kuang Heng Chicken Rice), which is located just a few blocks from Go-Ang Chicken Rice.

KUANG HENG CHICKEN RICE

Kuang Heng Chicken Rice has been open since 1934, and since then they’re famous because of its chicken rice and satay. The seating area is small, but the serving time is quite fast. Lucky us, there was no queue that afternoon. The menu is pretty simple, and of course, we tried their signature dishes and drinks, and the experience made us return to this place for a few days during our stay in Bangkok, Thailand. Ha-ha…

For drinks, we enjoyed a refreshing Iced Thai Milk Tea (25 Baht, equal to IDR 10.7K), very authentic, and Hot Thai Coffee with Milk (25 Baht, equal to IDR 10.7K), where the coffee itself was quite strong, very traditional and it tasted really nice, served with condensed milk as well.

Chicken with Rice, 50Baht (equal to IDR 22K)

The rice is cooked to perfection, but less fragrant than Singapore’s Hainan Rice. But you can’t compare them with Chicken Rice in Singaporean style because they only boiled the chicken with water. However, the boiled boneless chicken was succulent, served with tasty chicken soup and homemade chili sauce which gave a nice touch to the rice and chicken; otherwise, they might just taste bland. The chili sauce became an added value for this dish that keeps us coming back again!

Deep Fried Chicken with Rice, 50Baht (equal to IDR 22K)

If you like fried food, I recommend you to try this! The presentation was the same, only the chicken that’s different. The fried chicken chop was tender and tasty because it’s covered with fried batter on the outside, so the chicken got flavors from it. Plus, you should eat them with the sweet and spicy homemade sauce by them, oh so good!
