There’s no denying the food in Hong Kong is the first thing we all look for when we’re traveling. We had dozens of recommendations from the internet and all my followers on Instagram (thank you guys!), and finally tried a number of them, starting from dim sum and the famous wonton noodles in Hong Kong. After my recent trip to Hong Kong, I received many questions through Direct Messages on Instagram. So, here it is; a quick summary of all our experiences – Hong Kong Food Guide: where and what to eat in Hong Kong – so you can try everything too!

Read on for where and what to eat in Hong Kong and all my favorite restaurants!

1. Bolognese and Fried Egg Angus Burger (HKD$35, equal to IDR 65K)

JUST LAUNCHED IN McDonald’s Hong Kong a few days ago! If you like to watch HK movie, you must be familiar with Nicholas Tse, the super star. We tried one of the new menus; Bolognese and Fried Egg Angus Burger (HKD$35) consisted of tasty and juicy 130gram of thick-cut Angus beef patty served with cheese, lettuce, mayonnaise, generous beef bolognese sauce, and a fried egg, messy ‘coz there’s so much meat inside but it’s so finger lickin’ good!! ""

2. Chicken Noodle + Pork Chop Bun at Lan Fong Yuen (蘭芳園)

We came here because I heard that Lan Fong Yuen which opened since 1953 is the pioneer of Hong Kong milk tea, so we decided to try it. Luckily there was no long queue outside when we came there, and there’s a notice for those who wanted to eat inside, that each pax has to have a minimum spending. We ordered a set of Chicken Noodle (HKD$56, equal to IDR 103K) which came with HK style milk tea (also known as “silk stocking tea”), and a Pork Chop Bun (HKD$25, equal to IDR 46K). I chose hot HK style milk tea and we enjoyed it because it has a smooth and creamy texture, strong tea flavor. It was bland at first, so we added some sugar to it. Many people like the noodle and pork chop bun, but we’re not impressed with the food. The noodle was very dry, no soup served on the side, and it seemed they are using instant noodles for this. However, the grilled chicken was yummy!
