As one of Asia’s star destinations, it’s not surprising that Singapore has many hotels to choose from, ranging from the quirky budget hotel to luxury hotels. I still remember how excited I was when I received the privilege to experience a weekend stay at The Westin Singapore and spend quality time with my husband (thank you so much, The Westin, for having us). A lot of things that become my highlights during our stay, that’s why I wanted to share them with you. The Westin Singapore is a 5-star luxury hotel located in the dynamic financial district (CBD area), which is only 3-minute walk from the Downtown MRT station to Asia Square Tower 2, where Westin is located. Business travelers or tourists can easily explore Chinatown and the downtown area by walk, and this becomes an added value that makes The Westin becomes an ideal spot to stay in Singapore.
Apparently, The Westin Singapore, which recently celebrated the 2nd anniversary in early November 2015, occupied the top floors of Asia Square Tower 2. No wonder when we arrived at the hotel, they guided us to the elevator and took us to the main lobby that is located on the 32nd floor. We were stunned by how huge the main lobby that offers a stunning panoramic view of the seaport and the Marina Bay through floor-to-ceiling windows. Not only that, but all the stylish and modern furnishings, sophisticated, and vibrant color of everything create a pleasant atmosphere that makes everyone doesn’t want to leave this area.
There are some of many reasons why we love the The Westin Singapore so much after we experienced Westin Weekend program last week. We were given a Sea View room with king size bed, directly above the infinity pool and we could see the Marina Bay through the floor-to-ceiling windows from our room that is located on the 42nd floor. This room type is one category above the Basic deluxe room, and we stayed there for two nights. Yay! Everything is provided in the room; starting from 42 inch HDTV with a welcome message on the TV screen, a docking station to listen to our favorite radio, plush sofa, ergonomic chair and work desk, marble bathroom and marble bath tub with White Tea Aloe bath amenities, a separated shower stall, extra-large combed cotton bath sheets and custom-designed bath robes that are part of the Westin Well-Being Movement to make us feel well during our stay.
The Westin assured that all their guests can have a good night’s sleep on their signature Heavenly® Bed. We did not know about it until we drown in bed and truly experienced the Heavenly® Bed, layered with a down crisp, soft white linen, 250–thread count sheets to the down duvets, plush pillows, and custom pillow-top mattresses. We had a perfect comfort and slept well that make us never want to get out of bed. It was indeed the best bed we‘ve ever slept so far! Gosh! Now we’ve become one among millions of guests who had fallen in love with Westin Heavenly® Bed, which is specially produced and uniquely designed by The Westin, and anyone can purchase in their online store.
Besides the beautiful welcome wishes by the hotel on the TV screen, The Westin also greeted us with a welcome note and a plate of crisp cookies on my working desk in my room. A warm welcome message with a note that I can bring home Wellie The Westin Singapore Bear which placed on my bed instantly made me smile!! The Westin knows how to make me feel good and comfortable during the stay and I’m very happy to know that this bear was created for Westin Unicef Check Out for Children Challenge. Yay! Thank you! 🙂
We also had a lovely buffet breakfast at Seasonal Tastes located on the lobby floor. Seasonal Tastes is the hotel’s signature dining venue that offers a live interactive kitchen concept, along with a magnificent view of Singapore‘s city skyline and the South China Sea from the 32nd floor. During the day, natural light floods the restaurant’s interior and instantly creates a relaxed vibe in the restaurant. I liked how The Westin also supports a healthy lifestyle on their Weekend program. Guests can enjoy delicious SuperFoodsRx™ dishes packed with nutrients and energy, which was created together with doctors and nutritionist. We enjoyed all the tempting selections, ranging from pancakes, croissants, porridge, seafood, meat, and a variety of international food, and dessert bar. The freshly squeezed carrot and watermelon juice were our favorites too! SuperFoodsRx™ dishes indeed made us feel energized, brighter and positive throughout the day.
Even better, guests can rejoice because The Westin has a new policy. Late checkout on Sundays until 3 pm and extended breakfast hours made my weekend last even longer, and we didn’t have to rush to check out the hotel by 11 am like many hotels do. Kewl!
The gorgeous infinity pool located on the 35th floor is considered as one of the best swimming pools in Singapore. There’s no limit to the pool and floating clouds and the view from the pool overlooking the Singapore‘s city skyline, and Marina Bay was amazing. The best time to be there is at dusk or (probably) dawn if you can get up early. Guests can also enjoy their world-class 24-hour fitness studio and participate in a Yoga class that is held right next to the infinity pool.
Oh! I almost forgot! We also enjoyed a romantic dinner on the second day of our stay at The Westin Singapore. Surrounded by walls of floor-to-ceiling windows, Cook and Brew offers a sophisticated, warm and relaxed atmosphere with a view of the city lights around the CBD and Marina Bay district on level 33 of The Westin Singapore. It was truly enchanting, makes this place an ideal spot to hang out and socialize with friends.
Cook and Brew is a new concept of The Westin Singapore, a gastro bar that easily attracts anyone’s attention with its extensive menu. Every week, this restaurant provides a special dish created by the Executive Chef Aaron Foster, and we got a chance to try the Lobster Spaghetti that night. We enjoyed every single piece of tender lobster meat, and their homemade pasta was equally as delicious as the lobster itself. The sauce was unlike anything I’d tasted before – it was light and flavorful.
We also ordered Whipped Buffalo Milk Ricotta (12 SGD), one of their signature dishes. It was actually just a simple grilled bread, but when we dip the bread in the smooth whipped buffalo milk ricotta with a touch of truffle honey inside, it tasted so good, and we instantly fell in love with this appetizer. I personally recommend you to visit Cook and Brew when you visit Singapore or if you have a plan to stay at The Westin Singapore.
Overall, The Westin ensures us to experience the total comfort during our stay on the weekend. Our bedroom was huge and super comfortable, especially because of the signature Heavenly® Bed. Wonderful service, good food, nice facilities, magnificent view, strategic location, comfort, and luxury, all in one place. It’s one of the best hotels I have ever experienced!
