Good news, hey coffee lovers! There’s a new coffee shop again in town, Djule Kofi, which is located in Blok M – Melawai area (South Jakarta), the same neighborhood with Filosofi Kopi. This new kid on the block apparently is managed by the same owners of Ombe Kofie that has started their first coffee shop last year and has attracted a lot of coffee enthusiasts in Pluit Sakti area (North Jakarta).
We went there around 3 pm to meet some friends, and we love the vibe of this newly opened coffee shop in the Blok M neighborhood. It’s cozy, and space is bigger than Ombe Kofie, they are ready to accommodate more people in the house. This place wasn’t full house by the time we arrived, but a few hours later, it was packed with people standing up and looked for a seat in Djule Kofi.

The coffee station itself is equipped with Strada machine, and there are four types of espresso-based offered yesterday; Brazil YB, Guatemala, Ethiopia, and Toraja Mandheling. They have black coffee, but I tried something mild such as the Regular White coffee using Brazil YB coffee beans and something cold, refreshing and light called Japanese Iced Coffee. In addition to coffee, Djule Kofi also serves a small selection of cakes on the cake display. Their Apple Tart tasted so good, a kind of dessert that goes well with your hot coffee and makes people return for more.
Indonesian coffee culture and the increasing number of new coffee shops have resulted in high levels of competition, but I believe Djule Kofi will survive through it. They know exactly what they focus on and how to maintain their regular customers by serving the good taste of coffee. Overall, it was a nice coffee experience with my lovely friends on Sunday. All the best to all of us and to you, Djule Kofi!
