[NEW] Onni House Jakarta – Flower Market & Kitchen

Good news, ladies! I bet you will be glad to know that there’s a new cafe, Onni House, which combines several concepts – home living, florist and cafe – into one interesting dining space. You might have heard or may have visited the Aoyama Flower Market in Tokyo, or the lovely brunch spot, Karmakamet Secretworld in Thailand, if so, then you’ll feel excited as we are. Apparently, Onni House just opened a month ago, and had their grand opening on June 2, 2018.

No wonder, when we arrived, we’re surprised to see many girls taking pictures around the place, and it’s very crowded here! There are endless photo spots in Onni House, from the florist area, the lounge and home living area, the kitchen and dining area, it’s all set in such good vibes and atmosphere! We immediately fell in love with this cafe, I think Onni House is one of the prettiest and girly cafes so far. But, how’s the food?

Gado-Gado ONNI, IDR 33K
We tried Gado-Gado Onni which looks interesting from the picture. It came with a nice presentation, and the peanut sauce has a nice spicy kick, but unfortunately, it tasted too salty, and more like Pecel sauce as it is usually served for pecel dishes. We expect it would taste like a classic Gado-Gado as stated in the menu.

Beef Rice Bulgogi, IDR 58K
Just like what the other tables ordered, we also ordered the Beef Bulgogi Rice which looks good too. The thinly sliced beef bulgogi was so tender, came with a nice poached egg on it. The only dissatisfaction was the egg wasn’t runny inside when we sliced the egg and the Japanese fried rice tasted too salty (again) for us.

The dining area itself is warmly decorated with wood and plants accents, as well as the colorful cushions on the sofa. When you head out to the backyard, you’ll find an outdoor seating area with two little birds and some fish in the bathtub. Before I forgot, I also ordered Yogurt Berry and Flower Tea to accompany our meal. The Yogurt Berry was very refreshing, but I had to wait almost 1 hour for the Flower Tea because they ran out of the teapot. The waiter told me the teapot was still used by another table, and I gotta wait until this table closed the bill. Now I’m wondering, how many teapots are available here, just one?

Overall, we had a pleasant experience at Onni House. Without realizing, we spent 3 hours inside this cafe and ended up buying some home living stuff including the super cute Totoro in miniature size. If you and your friends are arguing about which café to stop by today, you can put this place on your cafe hopping list. It’s a long holiday anyway, right? Enjoy, and thank you for reading, don’t forget to share this with your friends on Facebook.
