I know this brand of Sate Khas Senayan since many years ago, to be exact since I was a kid. Together with my family, we often visit the Cideng branch, but now I visited the other branch in Menteng, Central Jakarta. This restaurant located in a very strategic area, nearby the Menteng Park and available with a fairly extensive parking. The restaurant has a spacious area and divided into two floors, where the second floor is mainly for reservation, informal meeting, closed event, birthday party, etc. The whole interior is dominated with wooden furniture and the Indonesian decorative puppets (Wayang). I’m so proud with Indonesian food! I heard that not only government people, but so many foreign tourists who also come to the restaurant.
Since its opening in 1974, Sate Khas Senayan has always been passionate to promote traditional Indonesian fine cuisine and culture. Sate Khas Senayan offers authentic Indonesia cuisine in a modern and a warm-hearted ambience inside the restaurant with the attentive staff.

Teh Poci, IDR 21K
Teh Poci is a tradition from west-Java, and originally from Slawi, Tegal. Jasmine tea brewed in a clay teapot and sweeten by adding rock sugar. The fragrant smell of teh poci always has a calming effect. It always becomes my favorite tea until now.
Es Kelapa Batok, IDR 34K
If you want something cold and fresh, try the Es Kelapa Batok. It’s one of their new menus. Slices of young coconut fruit are served directly in the coconut shell. So fresh!
Nasi Kuning Campur, IDR 56K
Nasi Kuning (Yellow Rice) is famous in Indonesia. It’s usually served for the celebration of special occasions including birth and marriage. And they usually come with a variety of Indonesian side dishes. Just as I ate at Sate Khas Senayan Menteng a few days ago. Nasi Kuning Campur (Yellow Rice Mix) is served with an assortment of meats and vegetables; such as chicken wings, beef rendang, slices of crisp and sweet potatoes, shredded coconut with beef (in Indonesia, we called it as Serundeng), slices of omelette, potato cakes (perkedel kentang), ati ampla kentang in chili sauce, and red chili. Yellow rice has a more savory flavor than white rice because it is cooked with turmeric, coconut milk and Indonesian spices. All the combinations complement one another; sweet, salty, and spicy into one unforgettable dish. It’s so delicious!
Udang Saus Asam Manis, IDR 75K
Fried shrimp does have a very delicious aroma that’s why I tried this new menu in Sate Khas Senayan. The fried shrimp served with spicy and sour sauce that’s certainly capable of increasing my lunch appetite. Chewy texture of the fried shrimp got us addicted, simple yet irresistible and delicious!
Es Cendol Durian, IDR 34K
For the dessert, we had the Es Cendol Durian. A traditional Indonesian Cendol, topped with pieces of Durian, served with brown sugar, and ice cubes. The taste of the Durian was very light, and it tastes delicious! If you love durian, you can opt in Es Cendol Durian as your dessert.
Overall, we enjoyed all the food served by Sate Khas Senayan. The brand has existed over than 40 years, but the quality of the food and the service never fails me. In addition to the above menus; sate kulit, chicken satay, and egg tofu (tahu telur) are also the favorite menu that we usually order. You have to try them when you dine in Sate Khas Senayan. Their branch is available all over Jakarta, Tangerang, Depok, Cinere, Bekasi and Cibubur. So, you can easily visit the nearest branch with your location.
